SmartFit Gym - Centro Maya Mall — Local services in Playa del Carmen

Since SmartFit has taken over this gym my biggest complaint is how absolutely filthy this gym has become. It’s truly a shame because the gym itself is great. It’s spacious, plenty of equipment and awesome atmosphere. Unfortunately, due to the extreme lack of cleanliness, it is starting to take away from all of the gyms attributes. The women’s locker room is horrible with dirt, hair, dust and a horrendous smell. The stalls look like they haven’t been cleaned for a week with some stalls backed up and not operational. Add this to the fact they have decided not to run any air or air conditioning only compounds the issue. It is my understanding the men’s locker room is in the same condition. On the main gym floor there is not a corner of the entire gym that does not have dirt and filth and all the facility from front to back and side to side. It is absolutely unacceptable. This gym needs to be cleaned throughout the day, everyday, with a full cleaning crew sweeping and mopping and disinfecting. If something doesn’t change soon, I will definitely look for another gym. It’s sad because I truly love the ease of the location but I just can’t stand how filthy SmartFit has allowed this...

My friend who I was staying with in Playa del Carmen is a member. She had a guest pass she was going to let me use. We both went in to set everything up. I wasn't dressed or ready to work out then and we had kids with us. We clearly communicated this was for me to come back on my own to work out. We both had to fill out information about ourselves and I had to do the finger print thing 5 times. The employee said I was all set to come work out later and I would just have to touch my fingerprint. When I returned, my fingerprint didn't work. I was asked for all my information and my id. Then I was asked for my friend's id which she sent me. After all that, 40 minutes later, they still didn't let me in saying my friend had to be with me for them to let me in. We wasted a lot of time and effort just to get to this point. I was considering signing up if the machines were adequate for me after my workout. Needless to say, they definitely won't be getting...

Pues me agradaba más como California Gym. Desde que cambio a Smartfit es un caos. Primero, problemas con cobro. Tuve problemas con el cobro varias veces y la respuesta de los chicos de mostrador fue que lo intentara en las Pc (computadoras) lo primero que pensé fue; es enserio? Tú crees que no lo podría hacer en mi casa ? Es por algo que estoy viniendo. Tal vez puedan meter terminales por el amor de Dios, un poco de atención al huésped. (Es pésima la atención. Me dedico a eso) segundo, las máquinas duran meses fuera de servicio, ¿que hacen con los pagos anuales de mantenimiento? Lleva más de un año una caminadora, una escaladora, predicador etc. Tercero, la cantidad de máquinas para el gimnasio que es. Es demasiada gente para poder entrenar. California tenía más espacio y más máquinas y apenas cubrían las necesidades. Le quitaron un montón y los visitantes son 2 a 1 a comparación de las máquinas. Tal vez con un registro óptimo de visitantes acorde a las posibilidades del gym. Y que no rebase esa cantidad. Cuarta, falta de supervisión, reglas que pongan simples a la hora de usar el equipo. Un montón de chicas y chicos solamente ocupando máquinas con el teléfono por más de 30 minutos, argumentando que están descansando. Quinto, problemas con mantenimiento: llegan siempre mensajes de que no hay agua o no hay luz, pero que puedo hacer uso de otros gimnasios smartfit. El contexto a este caso es lo mismo que no tener máquinas suficientes. Voy a otro gimnasio y obviamente estará llenísimo. Y no e visto por parte de smart una devolución por día perdido o descuento parcial por molestias etc. Ya que si yo estoy inscrito en el gym de mi preferencia es por algo; por ubicación, o por máquinas o por el tema que sea y para que me mandes un mensaje de que puedo usar otro gimnasio es simplemente algo absurdo, como podría trasladarme a otro? y el tiempo? Y mis necesidades? Han perdido los toques que se tenían que imagino era también de california gym. Tenían máquina dispensadora de barras de proteína o proteína en polvo, botellas con agua (el agua del dispensador sabe horrible) toallas, muñequeras etc. Haciendo dinero fácil vendiendo algo indispensable y lo quitaron. En fin tienen mucho que mejorar, y el tiempo pasa y no se ven los cambios. Lo que sí e visto son 5 gimnasios nuevos que cobran un poco más pero con amenidades bastante decentes, con una atención y horarios muy superiores y qué decir de espacio y máquinas. Es una pena ya que disfrutaba de este gym y ahí comencé a entrenar...
