All I can say is wow! Absolute gem in the heart of Puerto Morelos. If you are interested in a fascinating and authentic experience of Mexican food and drink from even before the Spanish invaded, this is the place. The owner (whose name we didn’t catch) was remarkably passionate about making pulque and gave us a detailed lesson on the history and science of its creation. Just a fantastic experience.
Also accommodating to dietary restrictions, the owner blew me away by having something special made for me when I told him I could not eat any wheat due to a gluten allergy.
And of course the food was delicious, we tried three different kinds of tlacoyos, which are fantastic and difficult to find (pro tip we received from our wonderful waiter Gael: eat with your hands like a tostada!). Pulque was wonderful and refreshing, several different flavors to try. And lovely conversation with our charming waiter Gael, who amazingly taught himself all of his English by playing Call of Duty and talking to people from England!

Read moreI was determined to find and try pulque for the first time while staying near Puerto Morelos and stumbled upon this spot on Google. I have no frame of reference for how the pulque compares to others, but I found it both delicious and worth the trip. I can definitively say wlthe tlacoyos were phenomenal. I had the tlacuache stuffed with pork and the tlacoyo with nopales stuffed with cottage cheese. Both were delicious, but the tlacuache was easily my favorite thing I ate while in Mexico.
The owner and our waiter were both absolutely lovely and spoke very good English as well. The owner went out of his way to share his passion for the pre Hispanic cuisine that is made in his establishment, including a tasting of the various pulque, an in depth explanation of the processes used and the historical significance of the food and drinks. He was a very informative, kind and cool guy, and our waiter was also very charming. Good vibes all around. I highly recommend coming for lunch and enjoying some proper Mexican cuisine. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in...
Read moreThis place is a MUST on your bucket list when you're in Puerto Morelos. Stop in for Breakfast or Lunch. If you've never had Pulque, don't be a fool, just order it. I highly suggest Huarache con Juevos for breakfast. And grab a bag of Tlacoyos to go to share on the beach. High quality ingredients & very friendly people. The Chef/Owner was nice enough to step out of the kitchen and engage with me in Spanish. When he noticed how poor my Spanish is, he kinda chuckled and switched to English. He was patient while I continued to stumble through an enjoyable conversation in Spanish. Very knowledgable in regional Mexican cuisine. A great resource for an adventurous traveler. See you...
