I was supposed to have food with friends at a place they said would have plenty of vegan options⦠and while salads are fine, iād hardly call them options. particularly when that is the ONLY āoptionā. as a food loving vegan, i would call salads more of a default. when dining out i expect more than salad as an āoptionā. so with that as my only, eh hem- āchoiceā, i decided to leave and go elsewhere. and i am sooooooo happy i did because i found some INCREDIBLE VEGAN OPTIONS at Namaste!
this place is easy to miss due to itās somewhat discreet location. it is up a set of stairs next to the currency exchange bordering the town plaza. believe me when i say it is worth seeking out! the place itself is comfortable and welcoming with a great view. the service was friendly, prompt and menu knowledgeable. i mention that because at so many places here iāve asked questions about ingredients (being vegan) and so many servers just donāt know.
now to the food⦠again- OPTIONS! for real!! they had many things to choose from. i donāt remember them all but will be back to try them. i ordered the vegetable samosa, mushroom martar(?) and basmati rice. it was all delectable! the samosa were perfectly crispy on the outside, flavorful one the inside, and served with a very tasty tamarind sauce. i actually ordered some to go with my leftovers. yes, that good!! the mushroom dish was equally impressive. seasoning was tasty with a kick and the texture was spot on. it was also different from anything else iāve had in puerto, which was a very welcome change. the rice was cooked perfectly and made a nice compliment to both dishes. if i had one wish itās that they would make some vegan naan⦠nonetheless, i highly recommend whether you are vegan or not! i will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mom and I recently dined at Namaste to celebrate her birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a vibrant ambiance that set the tone for our meal. The menu offered an incredible variety of authentic Indian and Nepalese dishes, making it difficult to choose! We are vegetarian so we started with the Saag Paneer. I highly recommend all the vegetarian dishes on the menu. All were rich and bursting with spices that danced on our taste buds! The naan was freshly baked and complemented every dish beautifully. To top off the meal, we indulged in their desserts and mango lassi which were simply divine! The staff (Kamala, Ganga, Ataris, Kuber and Raj) were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations that truly enhanced our dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Indian or Nepalese cuisine or trying it for the first time, Namaste is a must-visit in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome of the best Indian food I have had since visiting India! Not only was the food above and beyond my expectations (they were fairly high), but the restaurant delivered to my very flooded street, on foot b/c the motorcycle couldn't make it, during the thunderstorm on Oct 31. (Who needs candy treats on Halloween, when this is an option!) My son and I chose the Chicken Curry and Chicken Vindaloo, with naan on the side. Both were excellent, and run a tight race for the winner. Both win! The price for all of the food, as well as a nice tip, was the same price you would pay in the US for ONE dish, before taxes and tip. I highly recommend, and I'll probably see you there if you visit in the next couple of weeks while I'm...
