Ate here last night. Giving 3* because of location on the beach. Food & service 2* & that’s just for trying! Blurb says AAA4diamond rating! Awful as it cost US$250 to find that out. Waguyu beef 4ozs smothered in chimichuri sauce, ribeye 7ozs swimming in a tomato sauce and the pitiful lamb chops turned out to be one TINY chop - all served individually on cheap metal plates. Sides had to be ordered separately- we had broccoli so a half head came on a metal plate, the sweet potato was one small potato cut in half on a metal plate and beet was a large beet cut in 4 quarters sitting on cream cheese in a metal plate. We had 3 different cocktails and two glasses of wine in total (our party was 3). We ordered one appetiser of shrimp (3 shrimps each on its own skewer sitting on puréed sweet potato which came with the main. We’re not poor when it comes to paying for offsite eateries but we’ve tried all the restaurants in the Mayakoba resort (Rosewood, Fairmont, Andaz & Banyan Tree) and they should all be ashamed of themselves. The best and most tasty food was from the food truck on the beach at the Rosewood- I’d give it 10** stars. Small portions but absolutely delicious with the...
Read moreThe food was good but horrible service. A family of four was sat in front of us 15 mins after us and they had round the clock service. Our server came every 30 mins. They were serving them like kings. And my husband and I like nobodies. Very much profiling. We are staying here for 3-4 days and decided not to eat at any of the restaurants at Mayacoba ever again. The manager even asked us how our service was, and we voiced our concerns and he didn’t do a thing about it. $84.00 US for a tiny piece of fish, a spoonful of mashed potatoes for my husband, a cup of veggies for me and a full serving mashed potatoes for me (I’m vegetarian so they made me grilled veggies for $18.00) plus a $10.00 US side of mashed potatoes. And two glasses of wine. EIGHT FOUR DOLLARS for that. Omg. Never...
Read moreFood is a bit hit or miss. Some dishes are fantastic (beef kabobs), some are so so (eggplant dip flavor was mediocre and cauliflower dish is a bit overcooked even though the flavor was excellent). Pita chips are too hard here.
Service is fantastic. My little one was super tired and fell asleep. I asked for the dishes to come out faster and they literally got to the table in 5-10 minutes. And offered towel and pashmina to keep her warm when she took a snooze at the restaurant.
During some nights, it can get very breezy here. Maybe best during lunch time.
The theme is Lebanese tapas. The burgundy by the glass was solid but need to wait for it to warm up from refrigerated temperature for the...
