Had dinner here after a long travel day, as it was the only walk-in option at the Andaz. Big mistake. Service was slow despite the place not being busy. Ordered a margarita to kick off our vacation, and it was hands down the worst I’ve ever had—completely watered down and flavorless. The fish and ribeye tacos were just as disappointing—bland and uninspired. Had to drown them in salsa just to make them somewhat edible. Honestly, I could make better food and drinks at home. All this for 1,100 pesos? Absolutely not. Won’t be back.

From the dinner menu - starting from 6pm: Fish tostada is the best, highly recommended. Rib eye taco’s taste really depends on the cuts of the beef (had them twice), can be very good or mediocre. Shrimp taco also depends on whether the shrimp was blended with the cheese and the amount of mayo applied (second time trying it was a detached shrimp and cheese was solidified- so it wasn’t as good..) Chicken taco is pretty average.

During my stay at Andaz Mayakoba, Tinta del Pulpo was my favorite spot for drinks, food, and the amazing view of the pool and the beach! The service was fantastic, and while the food was not traditional Mexican, it was great and showcased the chef's creativity. Amazing!

At night, the tacos come in 3, we got the fish and octopus tacos (I thought the fish tacos were absolutely amazing). They were awesome and hit the spot. Our kids had chicken soup and loved it. We also had their burgers by the pool during the day which were a little messy but yummy. Much more economical restaurant in Andaz with better quality than the others. Definitely recommend. The tall tables knocked off 1 star bc it’s tough to eat there if your kid needs a high chair (there’s 1 picnic...

Three years ago I gave this place three stars but since then it has deteriorated. Both fish and shrimp tacos were fried (not obvious from menu) and placed on cold tortillas with little to liven up all that batter. Had to douse them with hot sauce. The white fish ceviche was forgettable at best, weird at worst with random coconut flakes and milk. The margaritas are weak. The guacamole is OK. So you spend close to $100 per person on a beyond...
