Chez Waffle — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Please don’t take this review as criticism but rather as points of improvement😊 We ordered a “Nordic” waffle and an avocado toast. The waffle was alright, nothing special, but ok to eat. The avocado toast though needs some improvements…first and foremost, the layer of guacamole was so thin I could almost not taste it. So was the layer of hummus. When going to cafes, you expect them to be generous with the ingredients, and here it felt like they give the smallest amount possible. I had to ask for extra salmon, as otherwise it would be tasteless. The bread was super dry and tasteless. We also ordered a chai latte, but they got confused and brought us matcha latte. We agreed to drink it instead, so they don’t have to re-do it. 5 minutes later they brought a chai latte, which we asked not to do. We thought it’s complimentary for the mistake, but they ended up putting it into the bill. What saved the situation, is that they gave us “local’s discount” (we usually have it either way but thanks anyways). Both chai and matcha were too sweet and the powder could be tasted, I would strongly suggest adding less powder and more hot water/hot milk. The overall service is nice, which a smile. The atmosphere is cute but more on the “Instagrammable” side and not the cozy one. The bathroom is really not clean though… To sum it up: 1) rework the avo toast by adding more guacamole, offering an option with salmon, and also changing a bread to a more tasty one. 2) chai latte and matcha latte must have less powder, less sugar 3) clean up the bathroom 4) make sure staff pay attention when taking an order, and perhaps instruct them to not make people pay if they made an error :) Overall, thankful this place exists and with small improvements, it will become a...

Adorable restaurant situated at the end of the prettiest street in Puerto Aventuras. Portions were huge so order accordingly. Quality was great too. Started with a cappuccino and peanut butter and banana smoothie, which were delicious. For the main course we had a keto waffle and a traditional waffle topped with boneless buffalo wings. The keto waffle did not taste good, but the toppings were delicious. You could probably get the same toppings on a traditional waffle and it would be fantastic. I ate at the location near the marina in the kiosk, it was fairly offensive to pay the amount we did. Coffee was cold and old, and while the waffle was okay, the toppings tasted like they were from the convenience store, the sausage was hard and congealed, and the eggs had runny egg whites (I did ask for them soft, but….) it really looked like a McDonald’s breakfast. The waffle I got was nearly 200 pesos and it left a greasy fast food taste in my mouth. Maybe the main location is better, but if that’s the case I’d advise the owners to close the kiosk version.
