We had such an amazing afternoon with lunch and a snorkel tour. There food, especially that chicken or beef tacos! Fresh pico and amazing guacamole. His cute dog Tigre hung for a bit and we missed our dogs, so it was nice. After food, we went to our boat with Our guide and took us out closer to the reef and tied off to an anchor. He knew all the good spots. Found 4 sea turtles, a big lobster, a Lion Fish, a baby stingray and tons of other fish. They provided a life jacket (only required for the boat but can be removed in water), masks, snorkel and fins. There is a bit of a current so definitely have fins. Some of us had our own masks or snorkels and you can bring your own equipment if you'd like. We had the best time! They also took tons of pics and some videos with a gopro and the quality was great. They sent them all over via WhatsApp. They also stayed in communication before, during, and after our tour. Taxi from the port was $5 per person and only took maybe 7-10mins. After the tour you can hang on the beach but we asked to be dropped closer to the port, basically in "town" which reduced the taxi price to $4 per person. Try to bring cash. While cards can be used, it is difficult for them. Would advise the bathrooms are kinds rough (no tp, not very clean but get the job done) we took a napkin to the bathroom, just don't flush them and use...

My wife an I were on our honeymoon. Fernando did a amazing job. Start the day off with a little ride through the small town, then arriving to this beautiful little nook. The chunky monkey. Sit down have a custom made drink. Absolutely delicious. Well sitting there enjoying your drink watching the beautiful waves an luscious sounds of the ocean. Fernando's team is very nice polite an on top of there game. We got the tour to myan ruins. So we hopped in the chunky monkey Express. A very nice air condition van ride. Mind you, you are not crammed in a bus with a bunch of others. It's you and Fernando. When you arrive at the ruins, he takes care of everything. Had a detailed tour of the ruins with explanation of the history of the mayans. Then after the tour, take a cruise back to the restaurant for a delicious myan experience of there cuisine. All the way to the drink. While sitting under the comfortable hut eating our lunch and enjoying the waves. We also decided to take the snorkel tour. Seen some very interesting and neat stuff. Fernando is a family owned and ran business. Top notch experience. No body trying to swindle you for money, enjoy all your experiences with a ...

We arrived the Tuesday after Christmas on the freedom of the seas 12-27-21. We rented a gas powered golf cart from the cruise terminal this was adequate but bad on my daughter's back and loud, no shocks and i couldn't hear anything. I would recommend the e bikes from chunky monkey they are quiet and comfortable. We spent the entire day at the restaurant/beach bar and had the most fantastic day. We met the owner's Fernando and his wife Hilda, we had conversations about the reef and how this place came to be. Fernando's family was at the beach that day and they all made us feel right at home with them. We had a storm come through around 2pm and everyone was welcomed in to stay dry. We met Australians, canadians and Fernando's family together we all had such a special day that i will never forget. On the way home my daughter said that this was her favorite day ever, playing with the newly acquired puppy and being with people that were so loving. We had the king crab lunch and it was incredible!!!!! Thank you Fernando and Hilda!!!!!😊 I can't wait to come back and stay longer!!!!! Mike Shortt Winter park...

We came here off the ship because of all the great google reviews but were very disappointed. First the taxi ride to this place was $5 a person (each way) and driving through the town is sad with trash everywhere and terrible cobblestone roads. They have a few beach loungers with no shade and some cheap plastic tables and chairs (with shade) and the restaurant hut across the street. Service was great but food is expensive for what you get. Seriously... this is Mexico not LA. Chips were freshly made and delicious. Bathroom facilities are terrible. We were told not to swim at the beach because of the old dock that used to be there. I guess there is debris and old metal nails in the water. No massages open that day, maybe because it was windy. If you have been to any other type of beach club in MX before you will be disappointed. The guys working were great and I hope they are able to improve their business.

It was worth the walk from the center of the beach I didn't want to stay at a place where cab drivers were dropping people off from the port and decided to walk along the beach until I found Chunky Monkey. Great thing is that they don't charge per chair (like other beach clubs), so you can order some food and/or drinks and lounge around as long as you wish (make sure to have your towel). I had the best guacamole there, no kidding! Super fresh, it was fantastic, the kind of guacamole I expect to try in Mexico. I asked for mezcalita, and to my surprise they didn't know what it was, I had to explain. Paid $40 for 2 drinks and guacamole, including tip. Not too cheap by mexican standards bit I'm sure cheaper than other places that were packed with tourists. They have outlets all over which is very helpful but wifi wasn't working when I was there.
