El Mero Mero — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

The staff are so welcoming here! So happy and such genuine people. Although we are still quite new at communicating in Spanish they treated us so well and our children left with the biggest smiles.

That's just the atmosphere part, the food though.... The food is everything you want in a meal, we ended up eating basically every taco on the menu! The kids split a chicken torta and chicken taco dorados which they loved. We also had both versions of their tostada's (my personal favorite was the pulpo 🐙! - picture below).

Somehow we followed all that food with basically every dessert. I think we only went in there half hungry and the atmosphere gave us such good vibes we ended up eating everything in sight 😂.

The next day we returned for some of our favorite tacos and the kids had hot cakes and eggs with bacon which were both hits.

El Mero Mero Mexican restaurant is a real hidden gem! The food is super fresh, especially the garlic-infused fish and the crispy chicken tacos. The staff are incredibly welcoming, even though we're still learning Spanish. They treated us and our kids so nicely, and everyone left with big smiles.

We couldn't resist trying almost every taco on the menu! The kids loved the chicken torta and chicken taco dorados. We also tried both versions of their tostadas, and my personal favorite was the pulpo (octopus) one!

We indulged in basically every dessert too, even though we were only half hungry when we went in! The atmosphere was so great, we couldn't help but enjoy everything.

We loved it so much that we went back the next day for more tacos, and the kids devoured hot cakes and eggs with bacon.

We'll definitely be returning...

If you’re driving between Tulum and Cancun, you absolutely must stop at El Mero Mero! This place serves some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. I went for the fish tacos—4 of them, plus a refreshing orange juice, Mango coconut ice cream. and everything was incredible.

Their nachos are a perfect starter, especially with the three different sauces. If you like it spicy, don’t miss the habanero sauce; it’s one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The prices are fantastic too—4 fish tacos for just 160 MXN (about 8 euros).

Overall, El Mero Mero is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican food...
