Itzam Restaurant — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

My wife and I went on our honeymoon at the Etereo resort and we ate at Itzam multiple times. The food was amazing. They brought out little surprise bites and drinks for us to try throughout our stay and the quality of the food was fantastic as well. The best thing about the restaurant, however, was the staff. They were so kind and quick to meet our every need. It felt like they genuinely were excited for us to be there. Sandra and Victor were particularly kind. We saw them multiple times throughout our stay and they would come up and greet us even if they weren’t our server. They asked how we were doing and what we enjoyed about our day at the resort! They went above and beyond. Additionally, every time we were being seated they confirmed that I had a nut allergy and that my wife had a gluten free preference. Anytime they brought the food out they would confirm that it was nut or gluten free. I felt so relieved to not even have to bring it up as they were so on top of it. I would 100%...

Diverse Mexican dishes with small and large plate options makes it a good place to try several items and share with others. Our server, Biene, helped us with recommendations and the items she advised us to order were our favorites of the meal. The highlights were the Cerdo Pelón Conchinita Pibil and the Slow Braised Short Rib. The latter is served with tortillas but you could also enjoy it without. We finished with the chocolate churros.

I love Itzam! The food is incredible—easily on par with Ki’is, if not better. As you enter, you’ll see fresh tortillas being grilled right in front of you. They’re served with the entrées so you can turn them into tacos, which adds such a fun and delicious touch to the experience. Catch of the day was cooked perfectly and their churros are to die for.
