KiHa Mahahual Costa Maya — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Do not go there with your toddler to this ice cream shop bc Bobby (the owner) will rudely scold your child for touching anything on his shelf that appears to be placed there for customers' use.

We were enjoying our visit, attended to by a very friendly server with whom we chatted for about an hour whilst eating ice cream as I sat next to my toddler exploring different games, books and gadgets on his shelf--all the while exploring with her together so she didn't damage anything.

Bobby arrives and gives us nasty looks and scolds my daughter (I don't remember the exact words bc I was in complete shock at his behavior). Then he took everything off the shelf that saw to be out of order including books as if to make an inventory of damage--which there were none.

I will never return to this shop. His ice cream is good but I've had better and it is overpriced for small portions like other reviews state. But I'm sure our interaction with Bobby soured the whole...

Wow! This homemade ice cream is amazing! I tried the mango and I could taste the freshness and the true mango flavor. They also serve food if you want to plan to eat there and then finish up with some ice cream! The rest of my party took advantage of the beer specials they have. Great prices, great ambiance, and just a 5 minute walk from the port shopping area. It’s also right in front of the ruins replica where you can stop by for a quick photo-op. Also nearby are the taxis that can take you to the beach which is not far at all. Depending on the time of year you could even walk to the beach - it is about 20-30 min walking. We went on a very hot day so we opted for the taxi ride. In any case, try some homemade ice cream, it’s an experiment...

Best ice cream in Mahahual!

This is my favorite spot for homemade ice cream!! It’s so good and you have to try it. The hardest part about visiting Ki’Ha is always choosing a flavor. Do I want Mezcal & tamarindo, or do I want Rompope with raisins, or …. so many choices and I can't have them all in one day. Super delicious flavors. I will be back though. And a real welcoming, openhearted, nice, friendly service (speaks perfectly English as well) - by far the friendliest and most helpful place in Mahahual … … and even practiced environmental consciousness - waste avoidance or only 100% biodegradable disposables - an exemplary location, nobody should pass...
