This was our best meal of our trip - the dishes were delicious, creative and the service was impeccable. In particular, our server Enrique was fantastic - our courses were paced appropriately, his advice on what to order was spot on, and he cared deeply about how much we enjoyed our dishes.
We opted to order several starters and sharing plates, as those looked more exciting than the mains. We had the grilled octopus, the linguini, the cauliflower, the asparagus, and the conchiglioni.
Starter bread: we liked it enough that we got two of them - warm, right out of the oven with a variety of flavored butters
Cauliflower: a whole head of cauliflower, this was a great starter, beautiful presentation and very good
Octopus: cooked nicely with a very good sauce
Asparagus: very tender with a nice sesame crust at the bottom and paired with a dipping sauce
Conchiglioni: this was amazing, incredibly rich with real truffles in the filling. I don’t usually love truffle dishes - I find things made with truffle oil to be overpowering but I didn’t get that from this dish at all.
Linguini: this one was the least interesting - if I went again I would order the baked scallop instead.
Chocolate cake: the cake was moist and delicious. The sorbet it came with actually stood out to me most - very refreshing and great flavor.
The amuse buche and petite four were also nice, but those are always better as a surprise. I’m so glad we decided to come here one night, by far the best dinner option in the resort and one of the highlights...
Read moreIn awe of this restaurant! I am surprised it’s not Micheline rated. Everything from ambiance to food to service is outstanding. I stayed at Waldorf for 2 days and dined here both nights. My table both nights was overlooking the ocean, and having a glass of NZ wine makes blue hour just so much more enjoyable. I tried different items on the menu and everything was incredibly delicious. Beautiful presentation, dishes were perfectly spaced out. My personal favorites were Hamachi crudo, Baked scallop in the shell, prime beef tartar and mango/passion fruit desert. Highly recommend!
Oh, and their house baked bread with seaweed butter - do...
Read moreWe had such a cool experience at this place. The chef and the servers were so professional and talented, and most importantly chill. First off our daughter has some food allergies and they were on the ball all night. Secondly, we brought our own catch from a deep sea fishing trip and they crushed it with each dish. Each variety we caught(tuna, barracuda, mackerel) had its own amazing...
