This place exceeded our expectations on every level. We had done a full day of diving, and had wrapped up a night dive, getting back to central downtown Cozumel around 9:20 before having to go back to our accommodations and haul gear and shower, leaving us starving at 10pm and having earned a great dinner, but with few options. This place was a few minutes from our hotel, and was open until 11. We walked in at 10:20 and were welcomed warmly. Food was well prepared, delicious, and affordable for what we were getting. The place definitely seems family run, and they were so gracious to us. Margaritas were great too; we asked for low on the sweet factor and they hit the mark perfectly. Great outdoor seating vibe, and I think one of the people running the place noticed I was scratching my ankle from having been bitten by a mosquito, as it’s an outdoor place, and he brought over a fan to keep the breeze blowing and bugs away!
This place is an absolute gem in Cozumel, not too far off of the main drag, yet far enough away in the very BEST way possible. Quiet and lovely but they kept good tunes rolling, and we will be back. If you’re looking for a great steak (or other options) for a great price from a family business without the cheesiness of the main strip of Cozumel, come here! And pro tip for hungry divers coming back from a night dive—hit them up, they deserve your business because they’re there for you, when not a lot of decent restaurants are open...
Read moreThere are so many great things to say that I’m not sure where to start. The restaurant is in an inviting garden that resembles a much loved backyard. We were greeted by the owner, Jorge, and our server, Willie. They both spoke perfect English and graciously helped me with my beginner Spanish. We started the night with cervezas and a basket of chimichurri bread. I’d never had it before and wow, it was so good. Willie asked if we liked spicy food. We confirmed so he brought out the homemade habanero sauce. It’s unique and the best I’ve ever tasted—pleasantly spicy with charred crispy bits that add a smoky richness. Both our meals were exceptional. My husband had a huge ribeye served with a side salad and grilled corn on the cob. He loved everything. The ribeye was a superstar because the quality was excellent, the medium rare cook was perfection, and the flavor was addictive. I tried something new, papa relleno. It’s a baked potato stuffed with sour cream, cheese, and the most tender and flavorful arrachera (hanger steak). As if that wasn’t enough it was served with grilled corn on the cob and a heavenly pasta tossed with garlic and shredded Parmesan cheese. You need to eat here. After that you’ll want to go back as often...
Read moreWe were looking to eat meat, not an easy proposition on the island as seafood or tacos are more common to fine at a good price and quality. We found this place on google and decided to give it a try: Run by two brothers, service was personal and caring. Lots of great conversation and island advice. I love family run businesses. The meat was delicious, straight from Monterey, can’t find it at the market place. We had sangria and tequila… The neighbor plays loud music and that cut into the atmosphere a bit as did the mosquitoes and high temp. With maybe a few fans and mosquito spray the atmosphere can only improve We loved our dinner and will be back Great steakhouse,...
