Los Lujos de Mazatlan — Restaurant in Sinaloa

Came in February during Carnaval, had an excellent young waiter, delicious food, great experience: was sorry that i waited so long to return, but this time wasn’t the same experience. I was asked when i entered “where you from?” I replied USA and he walked away. I live in Mazatlan. I ordered the mixed civeche, @$230 and a lemonade for $48. Both were delicious. There was only one other table, wait staff were looking at phones (normal for Mexico). When i asked for le cuenta, waiter brought me the card reader with $333 pushed in. There was no printed out statement of goods ordered. I said “that is not my bill!” Yes : “no, where’s the bill? my food was $230 & $48!” He returned with a printed out, correct, bill, and apologized, saying they had the wrong table (other table had 4 people). When i pressed number 3 for 20% tip, the grand total was, surprisingly $333! So this young un was attempting to enter his own tip, which is against Mexican law. The food was awesome, but i won’t return here, and I’ll advise other local gringos as to this restaurants practices . After posting this, I’ve read the other reviews And see that adding the tip is common practice at this palapa, and in the same manner that they attempted to get it from me. This is against the law. Very good view of the ocean here. Service was decent. The music was super loud, probably to lure in customers off of the boardwalk, we sat as far away from the speaker as we could but conversation was very difficult even then.

Ordered margaritas, they were small, and had but a splash of tequila, very ungenerous. Got the “Addictive shrimp cup” it was decent but not addictive.

Also ordered the “house special grilled shrimp” they were very large shrimp of obvious quality but were smothered in a mayonnaise sauce which was all that could be tasted. Not sure why you would ever do such a thing? The bread that accompanied the shrimp was also coated in the same sauce. We wish that this main ingredient was listed in the menu’s description of this meal.

Vivimos la experiencia mazatleca en esta localidad me acompaño música de viento la banda sinaloense mariscos , cerveza pacífico, alá orilla del la playa donde la olas te saludan el personal muy atento El trato fue bueno para empesar de entradas unas pacífico bien haladas y pedimos unos tacos de queso encostrado con camarones a las brasas con una salsa especial que le da ese sabor único al platillo y un filete de pescado con Mariscos arroz y puré de lujo muy sabroso Comimos en palapa pero también tienen servicio en la playa en arena tienen mesas y servicio vives una experiencia única con el staff todos en una misma sintonía con un personaje animando al turismo que pase al restaurante ya conocida Cómo !! LA CHONA. !! Me eche la platicada con ella chulada de persona . otro personaje que anima la fiesta y a los festejados del día el !!
