We went to Chef Mickey's to try a new place when we visited Rocky Point. We had a few places we liked to go but wanted to try something different. When we arrived there were no tables to accommodate our party of 8. Chef Mickey himself came out and said they were going to be opening up another room for us and to please give them a few minutes to let the room cool off. His staff and him were very gracious and showed us to the room and wanted to make sure we were happy and the room was comfortable for us. We ordered filet, fajitas, ribeye, the New Mexico style chicken and they custom made Alfredo for the little one with us. The food was truly amazing! Everyone raved over the stuffed chicken and just all of the food. Small snag with the way my steak was prepared but they quickly fixed it and were beyond apologetic. They were very concerned and wanted to make sure they made it right and that my steak was to my liking. Well it was! And not only that, they even brought a complimentary slice of apple streusel cheesecake to "make it right". They used to have gluten free items marked on the menu, but have changed their menu and now it's not marked. I preferred when it was marked, but, when talking to our server, she seemed to understand and was knowledgeable about the gf issue. The menu does specifically state to tell them of you have any food allergies. I got the filet mignon with baked potato (beware that if you get mashed potatoes they come out with a cute fried potato crisp on top, which could be a concern if you're sensitive to cross contamination, that's one reason I went with the baked potato. Though I'm sure you could just ask them to leave that off and they would, if you're concerned.) and green beans with almonds on top. And it comes with a side salad, which they made sure did not have croutons. After our drinks were served we asked for more bread because it was a large group of us and ordered our food. An hour later we finally had our salad that was suppose to be served before your meal. After another half hour we asked for the missing salad and the bread we had asked for.. two hours LATER I went inside and asked for the manager and told them I have been waiting for bread and food and drinks and they said to not take it personal but they are extremely busy to serve us. As I’m watching a table in front of me who had just gotten there 5 minutes prior get served there bread and drinks.
