Restaurante ‘Sazón Poblano’ was an absolute treat 10/10!!!! Of course we pulled up just after opening 11:15, no cars, no one else which can feel a little off like maybe we’re not at a good place… but what a great place!!!
As Americans with limited Spanish, many local spots away from the resorts/tourist areas won’t exactly be open armed but will appreciate the business. They won’t hound you or be overly friendly (as in the Malecón area) they will however be attentive and those with good taste in authentic Mexican cuisine and willing to communicate their satisfaction will no doubt return many times if possible and will feel a mutual appreciation.
The food, I’ve found it hard to find a proper mole in my 42 years of living, mainly in Tucson, AZ (The Little One has next closest). Sazón Poblanos was AMAZING!!! My mouth is watering thinking about my experience and I cannot wait to return.
My lady was unfortunately burnt out on local food and opted for chicken nuggets (lol), they were quite good, came with a tasty ‘aioli’ for lack of proper regional term. French fries were classic size and done proper-soft inside/slight crispy outer.
Back to the mole, so AMAZINGLY good!!!! First they brought the freshest, perfect warm rice with some veggies in it, next was the main dish. I will dream of this plate though can’t wait to try something else there, can’t imagine anything would disappoint at such a local well rated restaurant. Can’t wait...
