Puesta Del Sol — Restaurant in Sonora

I don't typically leave many reviews, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had and I feel compelled to write this one. This place had pretty good reviews online so wanted to try it out. My wife and I were looking for a place with an ocean view and some good seafood, and the photos I saw online looked like this would have both. We tried it mid-morning on a Sunday and quickly discovered that they only serve the buffet (no menu ordering) on the weekends. Usually not a fan of buffets and almost left, but decided to try it out anyway. Very disappointed to find that there was no seafood at all in any of the buffet dishes. In fact, the buffet offerings were all incredibly bland and unimpressive all around. I couldn't find a single item in the buffet that was even worth paying for. I filled my plate up and tried many things, and was incredibly disappointed in EVERY DISH. The buffet I found here makes Sizzler look like the height of fine dining. The icing on the cake was that halfway through our meal a giant bird absolutely covered our entire table - plates, drinks, our clothes...everything...with diarrhea that fell from the sky. Wait staff was completely unhelpful and simply shrugged and said "that sucks". No offer of help or towels or extra napkins to clean up. My wife and I both had to immediately go wash off in the bathroom sinks. Needless to say, our meal was over at that point and we couldn't eat or drink anything else. Having already paid for our buffets, we just decided to leave. We were chased down in the parking lot by the waiter who demanded that we still pay for the mimosas on our table that were now filled with bird stool. I can't think of a worse dining experience in my life. If I could give zero stars I would. Frankly, I'm a little surprised that the bird was the only one with diarrhea after hanging around this place. Would...

The restaurant has a very beautiful look to it outside and inside as you walk in. The location is very clean even the restroom are very clean. Parking is free and security is very tight. In the mornings the location becomes all you can eat and drink (no alcohol) buffet $11 for adults and $6 for children during my visit. The food was amazing with lots of variety to choose from and the fresh fruit drinks were also delicious. The restaurant is layered in to 3 sections a bar with tables and dance floor, inside fancy restaurants, and ocean side view with access to the beach. In the afternoon it becomes a tradition restaurant continues into 12pm. With live entertainment and music. Bilingual customers service is excellent.

Went to La Puesta del Sol for their breakfast buffet as recommended by many, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. They only accept cash. The restaurant was extremely warm inside, with just a few noisy industrial size swamp coolers that did little to cool the space.

As for the food, it was a letdown. Nothing tasted good, and I am a foodie, and I could barely eat anything.. all options had a weird taste, even the pozole, chilaquiles.. The only thing I could stomach was a couple of sunny-side-up eggs, which is bad for how much I paid. The handmade tortillas were good, but that alone isn't enough to justify a visit. The atmosphere is also lacking with how warm it was and the service as well.

Overall, dont come here for breakfast when there are much better places like candy cake or if looking for buffet sonoran sun is better. I'm not sure why this place has good reviews, but based on my experience, it's not worth your...
