I've been coming to Guaymas and San Carlos for almost four years. Up until recently, it was once a month for a week or two for work. Now I'm retired and my wife and I are here to scout for five weeks - because I came to love San Carlos. If I had good friends come to visit, Tortuga's would be the place we would go first. The seafood is always exceptionally prepared and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The dining room is quiet and comfortably formal; the Bistro is more casual with sports TV or often good local music. It offers the same menu as well as exceptional regional fare. Seriously, after four years, Tortugas has consistently rated as a five star experience, each time, every time. I should not just rave about the seafood, as I and my wife have also had truly amazing beef as well. But then Sonoran beef, if you've not had some, is something special if prepared as well as that at Tortugas. Tortugas is my favorite place in San Carlos. I love the food, the people, the staff, and the setting. It might well be a major factor in the decision if my wife and I choose to move...

As we spend the entire winter in San Carlos, we have tried most popular restaurants all over town. Just like the (in my humble opinion) tourist traps Los Arbolitos and Charley’s Rock, also Tortuga’s surprisingly (at least to me) gets rave reviews online. A reason for us to try it out for lunch. Upon arrival we find that the unattractive inside space has no ventilation (at least when we were there) so we decided to sit outside. The outside furniture is pathetic (old, worn and filthy cushions to sit on; several chairs without cushions). We wanted to keep it simple and ordered two burgers and a beer. The burger patties themselves were tasty. One with green chili, the other the “Tortuga Burger” which had undercooked chewy bacon, just three small pieces of mushroom and hardly any cheese. Both burgers came with buttered buns and greasy disappointing French fries. The service was efficient and very friendly, but with El 17 Sonoran beef available in many stores, we’ll cook our...

We came here to dine and celebrate our 21st anniversary and were not disappointed❣️😃. We started with piña coladas which were prepared to perfection! My husband chose the Chicken Parmésean which was very flavorful and he loved the mix of the noodles and the homemade sauce. I ordered the Fish Filet of the Day and was very happy when they told me it was Sea Bass since that's one of my favorites 😋 It was excellent surrounded by rice, pistachios, beans and asparagus in clarified butter. We sent our compliments to the Chef, it was that good!! We sat out in the front and they had two musicians playing music which we enjoyed dancing to. The staff was courteous and helpful. It was a wonderful evening and we highly recommend this...

Excellent service by Paco and staff! This place makes their own delicious bread, both sweet and savory. Great breakfast place! Have not tried their pizzas and dinner but my friends raved about the new years dinner they had this year with them! I did try the pizza it was good they have an outdoor wood burning brick pizza oven. I ordered the prosciutto and basil and I only wish they would of added the prosciutto after cooking the pizza. Other than that it was good. Sea bass and risotto was good also. And lastly the burguer also good. Great dinning at this place overall!

second day we visit here only because the food is delicious! however second time around service was not that great, they forgot to bring a drink had to remind another waitress also seems like they hounding after tips took a glance back saw the waitress waiving the $200 pesos our table of 4 left making faces like whats this? (not very professional) this happens a-lot in mexico i see it all the time. Tipping is suppose to be optional! dont expect for your reasonable services. Recommend the cesar salad, pizza of course, burgers are good, shrimp tacos delicious.

Dine casual in the bistro or upscale in the dining room. Service was okay, not great. They were not crowded at the time we dined. I ordered beef Wellington which is one of my all time faves. Flavor was good but I ordered medium rare and got medium well. You just can't send back beef Wellington, as it takes a while to cook. The waiter did bring out a complementary dessert for the meal being over cooked.
