This got to be the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever experienced. The pasta and lasagna arrived within 20 minutes (not of good quality). Fast forward 1 hour later and the first set of pizzas arrived (again of poor quality and taste). 40 minutes later the next pizzas arrived. 30 minutes later the calzone arrived. You can imagine our group was displeased mostly because during the 2 hour experience the waiter had promised that the food would be “right out.” As courtesy for the terrible service they offered us a bottle of wine which they promptly took back when we asked for a discount on the meal. Having taking back their wine, they agreed to discount “all the pizzas.” The new check came back with only two pizzas discounted. We argued again and then again they took it back to adjust it. Now having discounted all the pizzas they then added a coke and Fanta to the bill, neither of which we had ordered. The manager was extremely rude claiming that “we should never have been mad. Read moreIn my restaurant rating scale which ranges from zero-to-ten, I'd never given a ten. This was the first time I felt compelled to rate a ten, given the deliciously cooked octopus dish that I had there (which unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of). It was crisp on the outside while tender in the center, with a marinating after taste that was to die-for.
The freshly baked bread served as soon as we sat, in addition to the fine attentive staff and detail that went into all of their dishes, made for a very pleasant--and unexpected--dining experience in this small town up in the mountains of the State of Mexico.
Combine this with a trip to the nearby Monarch Butterflies during the winter months, or a visit to the Great Stupa Valle de Bravo year-round, and you'll have given yourself a beautiful trip...
Read moreI genuinely can't get my head around the 4* review that this restaurant has... I ate there twice and both times the food was SO bland and underwhelming! It's not bad but it's certainly not memorable considering the prices they charge you would be forgiven to expect better quality in execution... I thought maybe we just ordered poorly the first night but on the second even the most basic margarita pizza costs about 250 pesos and is on the level of a store bought pizza... I don't like giving negative reviews but I'm afraid this place is just not worth it.
Positives, the waiters were great and the drinks were decent enough... The atmosphere is also nice, a little cold but they have heaters as long as you're sat near one it's okay for...
