La Victoria de don Prisciliano — Restaurant in State of Mexico

I have never had a better breakfast anywhere in Mexico. My chilaquiles had the ideal red sauce — tangy, with just the right amount of spice — and my friend’s dish, eggs scrambled with tender cochinita and served with fresh tortillas, was delectable.

The meal included juice, French press coffee and warm bread with house-made jam bursting with berry flavor and a balanced sweetness. And prices were very reasonable for all of this quality and attentive, friendly service.

The open courtyard has a cozy ambiance full of foliage. The proprietor, Carlos, takes great pride in his restaurant and it shows. He told us he built the interior and planted all the greenery himself.

Carlos also said many of the recipes are from his own family’s kitchen, so they’re made with little twists on traditional preparations. It’s obvious that he’s perfected them, and I’m so glad he is sharing them with us now.

I've been a vegan for over 7 years and have visited countless restaurants across Mexico, but this one is, without a doubt, the BEST I've ever been to. Imagine walking into a magical place where every corner is filled with unique and charming details. The atmosphere immediately draws you in, and the service makes you feel right at home—like they’ve known you forever.

The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming experience. And then there's the food—absolutely delicious, with generous portions and unbeatable prices. You’ll leave not just satisfied but genuinely happy, much like Anton Ego in Ratatouille. Or, as we say in Mexico, “Barriga llena, corazón contento” (a full belly, a happy heart).

We love la victoria . We bring paragliding tours to Valle every year, and I take all our groups to la victoria at least once a week , and everyone always love it. The food is amazing.. the margaritas are soooo good.. the guacamole is the best in mexico. And I enjoy the fajitas . Great atmosphere. And the owner is great. Try it out. You'll love it.
