Wow! Where do I start with La Pequeña Nueva Orleans! From the minute I drove by just after moving to Tampico, I knew from the exuberant Art Nouveau architecture, this must be a special place! So I was heading to El Centro one Saturday afternoon and made a point to stop in. They open at 4pm and I was there eagerly waiting as soon as the door was unlocked! (There is paid parking right across the street). I headed for the inside courtyard (very New Orleans of course!) and was promptly seated at a table in front of one of the many fans - nice! I was really hot and thirsty, so for a cocktail, the waiter suggested the Mojito. Icy cold, minty and refreshing - what a perfect start! I sat with that for a few minutes and then had to jump up and take a look around this amazing place. From the luxe/funky decor of the gorgeous interior (with air conditioned dining) to the fabulous courtyard, I couldn't believe how beautiful it all was. (and I am happy to report that in contrast to an earlier review, everything was neat and clean, including the restrooms!) So after going through the whole place taking photos, it was time for dinner. The owner Yunni has put together a truly creative Creole/Cajun inspired menu with a jazz musician theme and I have to say everything looked SO good. I chose the Pasta Dixieland - shrimp in a Cajun cream sauce over fettuccine served with toasted french bread - absolutely delicious! With dinner I asked the waiter if a white wine was available but there wasn't (I would definitely offer one - it goes so well with pasta and shrimp!) Instead, he suggested the Vino Tinto Mexicano - red wine, tequila and lime. I said sure, why not! And of course, loved it - this will be my cocktail of choice on all future visits! Also, it may just be the gringo in me, but I think it would be nice to have a small side salad on the menu to go with the main courses if a customer so chooses. But I really didn't miss it and Yunni did come by shortly thereafter and ask if I wanted anything special - how cool is that?! From start to finish, it was a fantastic dinner and I was totally full so I told myself the Bananas Foster would have to wait for next time. Next time I will also come a bit later so I can enjoy the live music that is regularly featured in the courtyard - what a perfect excuse to come back to La Pequeña...

This place is great. Amazing outdoor courtyard with live music on weekends. (message them on IG or What's App to find the schedule) You really feel like you are in another place. The service was absolutely perfect. Cocktails were amazing. Food was quick and good. My wife and I went for live jazz on Friday. There was a guy who played saxaphone and flute to a backing track. Not a full band, but still very nice. I would definitely go back. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the place needs a good cleaning and some maintenance. The men's bathroom was in the same condition as a gas station bathroom. Give it a little cleaning, painting and maintenance, and it's a 5...

Super mala experiencia .
