I had high expectations for Buddha Bar Marrakesh, especially since I booked in advance to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I was hoping for an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, the evening was far from what we anticipated.

First, despite booking well in advance and being assured that we would be seated by the main stage to enjoy the performances, we were instead seated behind a column, which completely obstructed our view of the stage. This was extremely disappointing, particularly as the performances are one of the key draws of the venue. We could barely see the show, which dampened the atmosphere.

Although we were offered to move seats, the table we were promised was quickly given to other guests. When we requested a seating change closer to the main stage, we were denied on the grounds that we were a party of two, which was puzzling as we saw other couples seated in that same area.

The service throughout the evening left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we were not informed about a minimum spend, which would have been helpful to know beforehand. Once seated, we waited 10-15 minutes before we had to ask for a menu, and it took another 15-20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. The food order was similarly delayed, contributing to an already frustrating experience.

When the starters arrived, they were cold despite being ordered as hot dishes. This continued with the mains, which were also served cold and tasted bland, lacking the flavors one would expect from a restaurant of this reputation. To make matters worse, my friend had planned to order the lamb curry but was informed by the waiter that it contained beef – an ingredient not listed on the menu – to which she is allergic. This is a serious oversight that could have had health implications and should not occur in a restaurant of this caliber.

Given the occasion and the venue’s reputation, I had high hopes for the evening, but unfortunately, Buddha Bar Marrakesh failed to meet even the most basic expectations. I regret choosing this restaurant for such a special event, and I would not recommend it to others, nor will I be returning...

I made a reservation over a month in advance specifically for a table near the main stage, as it was for my birthday. However, upon arrival, we were informed by the reception that, despite our early booking, we would not be seated in the stage area simply because our party consisted of only two people, despite seeing many other tables of two seated by the main stage. Instead, we were placed at a table in a corner at the back of the restaurant, with no view of the stage or performances, which was incredibly disappointing.

After being seated, we were left without menus for at least 5-10 minutes until we had to ask for them. Following that, it took another 15-20 minutes for someone to take our drink orders, and even longer for our food order to be taken. Throughout the evening, it was evident to the staff that we were unhappy with our seating arrangement, especially after I requested, once again, to be moved to the area we had originally booked. We were told, yet again, that this wasn’t possible “because it was only two of us.” Instead, we were offered a table just two seats away, with no significant improvement in the view. To add insult to injury, we saw that same table being given to two other guests shortly afterward.

The issues did not end there. The starters we ordered from the “hot starters” section arrived cold. When I attempted to order a lamb curry, I was alarmed to be informed that it was not actually lamb, but beef—a crucial distinction that was not indicated on the menu. As I have a beef allergy, this could have been a serious issue.

Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing, particularly given the exceptional experience I had at Buddha Bar in Greece. Unfortunately, I will not be booking here again, and I will certainly advise others to avoid doing so as well.

I regret picking this restaurant for such a...

I made a reservation four weeks in advance, hoping to get a good seat close to the stage, as suggested by the website. However, upon arrival, I was informed that it would cost 85 euros per person to sit in the so-called VIP area. This was quite surprising since there was no mention of these additional costs on the website. Despite the promise of a better experience, the food was mediocre, and the atmosphere was just okay. Honestly, I expected more, especially considering they had the audacity to charge such a high price for a seat. When I asked for an explanation and wanted to speak with a manager, I was ignored. In the end, it felt like they were just trying to take people's money for a few dance performances and some basic entertainment. The food was way too expensive for what you got. The portions were so small that you could barely fill your teeth with them, and believe me, I’m not even a big eater. If the food had been incredibly delicious, I might have overlooked it, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. What we were served was nothing more than an ordinary meal that you can find anywhere, but at much more reasonable prices.

Dear people, don’t be fooled by the attractive presentation of this place. It may look appealing, but it’s absolutely not worth paying 550 euros for an experience you could easily have elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. The atmosphere and decor might be impressive, but they don’t justify the ridiculous price.

I will never come back here because it felt like pure money-grabbing. They seem to think that tourists have money trees in their gardens and are willing to pay outrageous amounts for something that doesn’t match the quality at all. This was an expensive lesson, but one thing is certain: they’ll never see...

Disclaimer: This is a must do thing when in Marrakech. It’s a fabulous date night/friends night out that you won’t regret! The only reason I won’t give this place 5 stars is because of the limited and high priced menu. Expect to spend around $65-$75 per person for a limited 3 course meal not including drinks. Unfortunately service isn’t speedy as the waiters (and I assume the kitchen as well) are very busy. As long as you can be patient enough to kindly ask for order updates then it’s not so bad. The stellar ambiance really keeps your mind off of the wait. I do recommend making reservations for around 21/21:30 but the place has A LOT of seating so I don’t think it’s required unless these a specific event. The staff was extremely kind, professional, and helpful. I really loved how each part of the staff from hosts, security, receptionist, and waiters all carried themselves. I mentioned the price but I will say you’re paying for an experience that is worth every penny!!! The food was good but not great so if you’re not interested in dinner then going for drinks and entertainment is a worthy option as well. The drinks cost a little more (maybe around $10 average) but they are probably the best drinks I’ve had in all of Morocco so again, worth every penny! The entertainment lasted from the time we arrived (21:30) until after we left (01:30) and it was well enjoyed. Excellent music from live talented live singers, beautiful and creative dancing (even some acrobatics), and lots of comfortable crowd interaction. I’m not sure when the fun ended but if it wasn’t for our prearranged taxi then we would not have left. Overall we can’t imagine being an Marrakech and missing out on this amazing place!

We booked an evening months in advance. Our party was for 23 people so we needed to make sure they were aware of our group size and didn’t want to surprise them. When we arrived we had to wait in the doorway for seemingly no reason. After asking 3 members of staff what the problem was, we were allowed in. But each staff member took our question, then immediately got sidetracked doing something else instead. Once inside, we got menus but only for drinks. Our booking was for food also, so we asked for a food menu. An hour later, they gave us food menus. During this time we also ordered drinks which took staggeringly different amounts of time, depending on who you were, not what you ordered. One person waited 90 minutes for their simple cocktail. When we finally managed to nail someone down to order some food, we were told that we couldn’t order food because of the party size. They couldn’t explain why they had given us a menu, nor explain what the only item we were allowed to order as a table was - described only as a platter. At this point we had been there for nearly 2 hours, some people had only just had their first drink, and the food was a non-existent option by now. We decided to abandon this bar, and went to the Burger King next door for food. They told us that people come to the every single day starving as a result of the service and attitude at the bar. The performers were fantastic, and were the highlight of our evening. It’s a shame for them because they are the only real thing keeping the place open. It certainly isn’t the service from the staff.

I don't know how to evaluate Buddha Bar in Marrakech. Place, building, interior like other Buddhas are definitely impressive. But service and food... Just ok. And when you think about it with addition to their exorbitant prices (I know this is club and I expect prices high but theres a limit) - just average. How to say it - this is not Ushuaia where you can understand why you pay high. Service here doesn't have any idea how to spoil you, how make you feel special. They only want your money. If you pay for 680 Dh for fish (and this is only one meal) you expect a smile, a good word. Expectations for tips going to level which makes you uncomfortable, closer to begging really (sorry - but you should see yourself from customer side). Anyway if you come here it is not for food - impossible to enjoy food with loud music. Conversation is impossible. You eat only to be not hungry and to ease alkohol intake lol. You can see that they used to tourists. Like everywhere in Morocco people who work in "posh" places, they instantly think that you are for them, not they are for you. Now in coronavirus times there's no show. Just some ridiculous bad quality video on screen. Still they keep up their appearances like this is best club with show. No its not. And if this would be the only club of this kind in city - maybe I would understand. Fortunately competition doesn't sleep.
