Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights. |We had an email 2 days before we arrived to say that if we wanted to check in after 8pm we would need to phone ahead to let them know which was fine as we didn’t expect to arrive that late, unfortunately on the day our flight in to Marrakesh was diverted to Agadir and our expected time to get to the hotel obviously then changed once we were through customs at Agadir airport I rang the hotel to inform them that we probably wouldn’t arrive until 1.30am after the person on the other side of the phone finished speaking in Arabic I replied in English and they put the phone down on me so with this encounter we were very worried that no one would understand us. |When we arrived thankfully the man on the desk (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) but he was most helpful and got us checked in it took around 10 minutes as he had to fill in paperwork but we didn’t mind waiting and once he was finished another gentleman took us up to our room which was very unexpected. |The whole hotel needs a major improvement and updating. The AC in our room leaked the whole time we were there both inside the room and outside the room on the balcony meaning we couldn’t sit on the balcony because it was constantly flooded with the leaked water, the bed sheets were stained and the lighting in the room was awful, bright spotlights in the ceiling is needed more than anything most nights I was showering in the dark as the light directly above the shower was broken, the water pressure was okay but some nights I would get in the shower and it was scolding hot and when I turned it cold it would turn off or it would just be trickling out still scolding hot despite me turning it to cold, we only stored water bottles in the fridge but the fridge was dirty and the seals were broken and it was completely frozen over. |The toilet seat was not secured down and you would have to hold it when using the toilet as it would constantly move. |We used the pool a few times but it was dirty one morning we went down and there was a white substance in all the corners of the pool and the pool was always very cloudy, I often when swimming would have random hair get caught on my fingers, although there was a childrens pool and a deeper pool most children didn’t use the smaller pool and opted to use the bigger pool which is fine but most children were unaccompanied and I didn’t see any lifeguards around the pool, there were always stagnant water the outside of the pool with wet floor signs next to the them which is massively unsafe there were many people that slipped and there was one young boy maybe around 4 running and slipped on this pool of water and cracked his head on the floor and no one from the hotel seemed to come running. |The sunbeds around the pool are either broken or sunken in or mouldy and not comfortable at all. |We did try the breakfast one morning it was nothing spectacular there was a basket of bread and pastries a hot drink of choice and a orange juice 2 different styles of pancakes and a hard boiled egg and an assortment of butters and jams it filled a hole and that’s the main thing. |Everyday without fail if we had been out to the pool for a few hours or we had been out on one of our excursions we would come back to our room and the key card for the room wouldn’t work everyday I had to go and get the room card recoded which was a huge pain. |As I sit here currently we are sitting waiting in the waiting room near reception waiting on our transfer back to the airport, it’s currently 42 degrees outside and there is no aircon anywhere in the hotel apart from in the rooms which for brits is unbearable heat. |For the price we paid for this it’s extremely cheap you wouldn’t find anything this cheap back in the uk for 4 nights so I suppose I can’t complain much just a few recommendations on how to make everyone’s stay maybe a bit...
Read moreOh, where do I begin with the delightful disaster that is Mogador Menzah in Marrakesh? If you're an aficionado of broken tiles, exposed wiring, and non-functioning appliances, this is your dream destination!
Let's start with the charmingly shattered tiles in the shower – a unique touch that adds a thrill of danger to your daily routine. And the loose sockets and wiring? Just think of them as an impromptu light show, sparking joy (and maybe a fire hazard) at random intervals.
The kitchen is a true marvel. Broken cabinet doors provide easy access to... well, nothing, since the cooker is utterly useless. And the fridge? It’s a fantastic decorative piece because it certainly won't keep anything cold. A real conversation starter!
But the bathroom really takes the cake. A leaking shower head ensures you’ll never have to worry about a consistent water flow – who needs that, right? It’s like a surprise every time you try to shower!
Now, let's talk about the fabulous restaurant they advertise. Spoiler alert: it's not open! Yes, they proudly boast about a restaurant that doesn’t actually serve food. Perhaps it’s an avant-garde concept where you imagine your meal instead.
And breakfast? What an experience! If you enjoy being greeted by staff who seem to have left their manners (and smiles) at home, you’re in for a treat. It's the perfect way to start your day with a dose of surliness and indifference.
The pièce de résistance of our stay was the room situation. We paid for two rooms, only to find out one room was sufficient (thanks to the non-functional AC in the other). The hotel, in their infinite wisdom, decided to charge us for both rooms anyway. They even rented out the unused room to someone else! When we requested to change rooms on four separate occasions, each one they showed us was in even poorer condition than our original disaster. We eventually gave up and crammed into one room.
Oh, and did I mention the baby cot? They promised it before and during our stay, but it never materialized. Just another broken promise in a long list of disappointments.
In short, Mogador Menzah is the pinnacle of inconvenience and discomfort. If you're looking for a place that embodies the phrase "you get what you (don't) pay for," look no further. For everyone else, I suggest staying as far away...
Read moreWe, the guests Carolina Amaro, Luís Amaro, and Alexandre Batista, are here to express our dissatisfaction with the hotel. We came through the Bangura Five Agency, which is already aware of our dissatisfaction. The hotel claims to offer accommodation with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, neither of which we had access to. We informed the hotel about the lack of air conditioning, which should be the minimum offered and is required to be functioning, but it has been out of order for a long time. We showed our dissatisfaction, and after three days, they offered us a room change, which would be larger but also without air conditioning. The manager suggested that we keep everything closed to make the room cooler, which would not solve the problem, so we did not accept.
The hotel’s cleanliness is terrible; they cleaned the room only twice, and the towels were never changed. We had to insist at the reception to get clean towels. The reception is terrible, showing little willingness to resolve the situation. The bathroom has a leak when flushing, wetting the entire floor. There isn’t even a towel to use after a bath, leaving water everywhere. We reported all these issues to the hotel and the agency through which we came.
We suffered a lot from the heat in the room; the nights are unbearable. We are unhappy with all of this. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration trip is turning out to be very sad. We are returning to our country three days earlier than planned because it is impossible and inhumane to stay in a hotel room at 42 degrees without air conditioning and without the minimum possible hygiene. This written statement serves to register our total dissatisfaction with the hotel and our sadness at ending our dreamed...
