Carmel may have a beautifully Instagrammable setting and reliable Wi-Fi, but unfortunately, their service leaves much to be desired. As a customer, I felt consistently been treated like a second-class citizen, while tourists seem to receive quick, friendly service. On multiple occasions, I found myself waiting 20 to 30 minutes just to have my order taken, even when the café was nearly empty.
It’s perplexing how the staff can be so attentive to certain customers while completely disregarding others. This wasn’t a one-off occurrence; I’ve encountered the same issue several times. To add to the frustration, there’s a noticeable lack of attention to detail with orders, as items have been missing on more than one occasion.
Caramel seriously needs to rethink this approach. Basic customer service—timely, respectful, and consistent treatment—is fundamental in any successful business, and sadly, that seems to be lacking here.
While the café is aesthetically pleasing and offers a good space to work with its solid Wi-Fi, these factors simply don’t make up for the poor service. I sincerely hope they address this aspect of their business, as it’s crucial in today’s...
Read moreI'm giving 3 stars just because the waiters , especially the young boy who was very kind , made it a better experience. But If it was for the food , there's nothing good about it. And also I wanted to talk about the fact that the owner was present , and he didn't stop complaining and treating bad the waiters. Especially the young boy.. who obviously got mad after the owner talked to him bad and then treated them as if they were just slaves, not human beings. We didn't like the vibe, when the owner came in, everyone was just looking and to be honest hearing him talking to them and complaining in front of every customer like this, wasn't fair at all. He should be more professional and smart. So basically these 3 stars are of course for the food but I wouldn't write a review if it wasn't for the owner that made it such a bad experience. Never again. Thanks to the guy...
Read moreEveryone told us the food in Marrakech is amazing - My husband and I only spent 4 days in Morocco and most of our time was on a desert tour with mediocre food, so on our last day we wanted to go out for dinner and actually have some decent cuisine… we picked Carmel since it was a short walk from our hotel and had some good reviews. To our surprise, it was incredible!! The whole vibe of the restaurant was on point, the service was so welcoming and happy to serve us (shout out to Yessen), and the food was mouthwatering! Veggies were cooked and flavored to perfection and the chicken was so tender it just fell off the bones. Highly recommend eating here!!! We also had breakfast here the next morning before our flight...
