Upon my recent visit to this homely restaurant nestled inside Madina Meknes, I was treated to an array of traditional dishes that were both comforting and authentically prepared. The menu included a variety of local favorites: a hearty traditional soup, chicken rice, couscous with chicken, Rfisa chicken, and a tagine of minced meat. Each dish was carefully crafted, bringing out rich and aromatic flavors that are hard to find outside of local Moroccan cuisine.
The soup was particularly notable, arriving steaming hot and packed with flavor, making for a perfect start to the meal. The chicken dishes were equally impressive, with tender meat and spices that speak to the culinary heritage of the region. The minced meat tagine was a standout, cooked to perfection with just the right mix of spices.
While the food was a delightful journey through Moroccan flavors, the restaurant’s interior also contributed to the overall experience. The decor was tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, it’s worth mentioning that the space is somewhat cramped, which might be a consideration if you’re planning a visit...
Read moreA tiny place but a big heart! This place feels warm, generous and you can have nice conversations with Aisha, who speaks perfectly French and English and even help some customers to find driver, tours by kindness. First night we had Rfissa (chicken with spices, m’semem) and Couscous kefta, perfectly seasoned and generously served. And I had the best harissa of Morocco - she even offered me to take some home :) Not only it is definitely value for money (very reasonable prices), she also offers us appetizers, cookies... everything was hearty and sincere that it feels like at a local host’s house for dinner. When we came back for breakfast, she prepared us a copious surprise: a VIP treatment with the local dried meat omelette that we have never seen elsewhere after 3 weeks’ traveling around! (I was so much into the delicious meal that I only thought about taking picture at the end.) Definitely the best restaurant and...
Read moreI am really surprised by other reviews. May be Ms. Aisha was not having a good day when we visited. Very unprofessional of her sitting on one table and watching videos in loud voice. Now comes the food. My husband ordered chicken tagine. When his food was served there was lots of soup at the bottom of that tagine that showed it was not slow cooked in the clay pot rather it was cooked in the normal pot and serverd in that very tagine. People who have eaten tagine before can understand that food cooked in that tagine gives the real taste. Upon asking Ms. Aisha replied that if you want to eat that slow cooked tagine in the clay pot that's cooked upon the charcoal go eat at some ordinary DIRTY place. Further she asked my husband if he doesn't want to eat that it's ok and took...
