Tchau Chow — Restaurant in Inhambane

While staying and diving with Liquid Adventures (see my review there), we unfortunately only discovered Tchai Chow on our very last day—something we truly regret. This place is an absolute gem, and easily the best food we had in Tofo.

Don’t be misled by the simple-looking menu. Behind it lies exceptional cuisine—bold flavors, thoughtful preparation, and dishes that are truly out of this world. Whether you’re craving local specialties, fresh seafood, or a well-crafted continental fusion, this place delivers.

The chef is outstanding—we even gave a standing ovation after our last two meals! The space is neat, tidy, and clean, with a cozy, laid-back vibe. As with many places in Tofo, be prepared for a bit of a wait after ordering—but trust me, it's worth it.

Vegetarian tip: Ask the chef to customise a vegetarian meal for you (including starters)—most of it is done off-menu, and the results are creative, delicious, and great value. If you're a foodie (especially after a long day of diving), Tchau Chow is the place to go.
