Spazio Restaurant — Restaurant in Maputo

We arrived at Spazio for lunch and we were greeted and seated right away. The staff was very nice and helpful with any question we had about the menu.

The menu is very large. It’s very difficult to choose anything because you are overwhelmed with too many options. 16 pages for a menu makes it difficult to specialize in just one style and that shows in the food. We started with the Wild Berry Sangria that I really enjoyed but my girlfriend thought was too sweet. For food, she ordered the Spaghetti Camponês and I took the servers recommendation of the Bife Spazio.

Both dishes were just ok. The spaghetti had a great flavor and the ingredients blended well but it was too oily and not completely hot. The Bige Spazio had some good and some bad things. I asked for the steak medium but the steak was a bad cut and thicker on some sides. So some parts were medium and some were also medium rare. The steak also had many cuts in it like the cook was opening the steak to check the temperature. The beer and cream sauce was delicious. It mixed well with the chips and spinach but when my steak was cut and the red juice mixed with the cream it looked very bad.

For dessert I had the lava cake that came out very fast. It was a little over cooked and didn’t “flow” out of the cake when opened.

Friendly staff (only the servers) and good food. Owners completely disrespectful.

When I was there, something very bizarre happened. I went on Friday night and I was the only client. The music was extremely loud, you could hear from the street. I went alone, luckily, as I wouldn’t be able to have any conversation.

Apart from mine, there was only one table, which was occupied by the owners/managers. The music apart from loud, was making very sexual, sexists and mysoginist jokes. They saw I was dining there and didn’t care at all. I had a very bad experience, never saw this in my life.

If you want a pleasant and cozy environment, don't go there. If you do, take earplugs with you. The staff had nothing...

My favorite pizza spot in town. The manager has always and is friendly and welcoming. We are already part of their frequent clients as we go there often. Well located and parking options are always available. Staff is also top notch. Their sangrias are the best and desserts are tasty.
