Ocean — Restaurant in Maputo

Ocean is just my favourite restaurant in Maputo City!!! It's just amazing!! The food is so delicious. Fancy and nice served. Although the high prices, the FOOD IS WORTH IT. Not just the food, also the atmosphere, the environment, very nice and cosy. You can stay inside too, but I surely recommend staying outside. The service is so nice!!! The servants are very kind, respectful, and very attentive. This time, I asked for a Tomahawk (actually first time trying it), and it was delicious. Their rice was very tasty, too (carrot rice). Cocktails are also amazing. Asked for a Caipirinha de Maracujá👌🏼👌🏼. The desserts are also delicious. There is a variety of them, and as always, I went for the Petit gâteau. Delicious. Also had the opportunity to try Torta de Coco, just amazing. The Chocolate Mousse is not that good... I would give it a 5/10. But the rest of their desserts are very delicious! If you are lucky and they have it, please ask for Torta de Caju. Their best dessert.

Although this is known as a seafood restaurant they have non seafood fare as well. We were six adults and a four-year-old, including a vegetarian and a red meat eater. Everything we ordered was great tasting and cooked to perfection. Best king prawns I have ever had. Period. Only con: they don't take reservations. Reason stated: patrons not cancelling and flaking. Possible solution: reservations should be accepted subject to a 15-minute grace period. All in all, a gem of a restaurant worth a special trip...

Nice restaurant, although majorly occupied by expats, offering a predominantly seafood oriented menu, with a range of fish offered by weight as well as range of dishes. Menu also has vegetarian and meat options. Friendly and helpful service and draught as well as bottled beers.
