2nd Time Pork Curry with Dry Mango Never served soup last visit, but this time I did and it was very good. Entree was very dry and tough even after I asked for replacement. Every thing else was fairly consistent with first experience but they need to cook the meats longer to make it tender... reduced my rating to average of 4 as this experience was a 1 for the pork curry...
1st Time Loved the whole experience with the food, service and the amazing side dishes and sauces... probably my best meal in the whole of Myanmar and they take credit cards without an up charge which is helpful when low on Myanmar cash...
Was a bit worried based on the reviews, but I think its reasonably priced in comparison to the local restaurants in Yangon, Bagan and Inle Lake for the level of service, amount of food and atmosphere. I've tried my share of the local markets, local restaurants and some high end hotels and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a little gem close to my hostel.
Wish there were more restaurants that served such tasty food in other regions or maybe I just didn't find them. I did try other highly rated places but so far, nothing wowed me as much as this location and I've tried...

. Myanmar Couple Pancakes - I felt they were greasy.

. Slow cooked mutton with chickpeas and it said on the menu it would come with "side dishes, soup and rice".
Well, I was eating by myself and just thought it was a huge amount of food for one person.
I did like the mash potatos. I did not tried some others because the waiter said it was spicy and I do not like spicy food, as my personal taste.
I really did enjoyed the mutton and the steamed rice (not in the photo) that they served. They also served green leaf and pumpkin soup which was nice.
Free Desert - Sticky fried rice (some of them a bit burned) and fried peanuts with some other I ingredients I did not comprehend (heard) what the waitress said. Peanuts were also a bit oily and I felt it was too much fried food and too much quantaties. Great to share though.
So I decided to give the 3 stars because I did enjoy parts of the meal but others were so so.
Waiters were nice in general but english was not...

This restaurant has 2 levels with aircon at the top level. We came here after finding this as the top rated place to eat in Mandalay via TripAdvisor & we were glad to try it out.
This place was constantly busy when we dined here for lunch. It had a great system in place & seemed it was organised well. All staff knew what they were doing & food came out relatively quick.
We ordered the mutton with chickpeas & the pork curry. Both were fantastic! We also ordered a starter but forgot the name of the dish, this too was nice.
The side dishes you get is also a nice touch as you also get to try out other dishes we most likely wouldn’t have ordered.
A lot of locals as well as tourists here so you know it’s popular. We were hoping to come back here for dinner but unfortunately ran out of time. Overall definitely a place to check out if you visit...
