Vista Bar — Restaurant in Yangon

One of the three well known sky bars located in and around the Shwedagon Pagoda, Vista stands true to its name and certainly offers the most iconic view of the Pagoda.

Vista is located about 4 floors up from its street side entrance and consists of 2 terraces, one such terrace offers that highly compelling view of the Shwedagon.

During the dry season this terrace is open air (during rainy season it is enclosed by a canopy) and consists of three rows of seats and tables across. The terrace is serviced by two bars, one at either end.

Modern commercial music like Demi Lovato was playing but the volume was thankfully not over powering.

However, there were no prices on the menu, I recommend asking for the prices before committing to a purchase. Tiger draft was MMK 1,500.

Also, since the signature of Vista is its view of the Pagoda, it was annoying that there were many staff members who continuously blocked the view either by walking around without purpose or by just standing and hence blocking the view of the Pagoda.

All in all, certainly a place to check out for some nice night time photos of the Shwedagon Pagoda while enjoying a nice cold beer. However, there is very little alternative views (like a downtown skyline) to see from Vista. In my experience, a beer or two was sufficient...

It's one of the few bars that plays slow and soft beat music. Mostly they play Westlife (Band) songs and other slow beat pop songs. So you can have a peaceful conversation with anyone you go with. Only give three stars because it has downsides. One of the things is it has no parking space. So you have to find an unsafe place to drop your car. Another bad thing is that the elevator is not usable. Since it is a rooftop bar, you can have some good scenery. You can see the Shwe Dagon pagoda clearly but another downside is that there is also a building beside which is higher and it makes you unable to watch the sunset from the bar. Je conseil d'y aller une fois la nuit tombé, la vue est très jolie. Le couché de soleil serait mieux ailleurs puisqu'il est au dessus de la route et entre le building. Pour le personnel je n'ai rien compris. 2 au bar, 8 en salles + 1 qui fait les 2 postes et 1 responsable qui ne sait même pas répondre au revoir, j'ai essayé 1 fois en anglais une fois en myanmar rien. J'ai eu une attente interminable pour très peu de clients. En arrivant j'ai vu que les serveurs installaient les clients, j'ai donc attendu mon tour et les serveur passaient à côté de moi comme si ils ne me voyaient pas, j'en ai donc attrapé un pour lui demander ou m'assoeir. Une fois assise pareil les serveurs passent à côté de moi sans rien voir. J'en ai donc attraper un pour avoir la carte. Et la encore une très longue attente et plusieurs coucou pour que l'un d'entre eu prenne ma commande. Le barman est beaucoup plus rapide à effectuer des cocktails que l'un des serveur a se décider a prendre la commande. Une fille était la pour proposer des bières avec un carte plastifiée, surment 1 commerciale. Je trouve que pour autant de personnel beaucoup ne servent a rien, discute dans un coin, ou viennent écouter leur collègue prendre la commande. 3 tables arrivé après moi on eu le temps de passer leur commande et de la recevoir alors que j'attendais. Et avant de partir, en attendant mon rendu monnaie, une fille me débarrasse et me demande ce que je veux d'autre. Ils sont tellement qu'ils ne voient pas ce que les autres ont fait ou non.
