The difference between a good hotel and a great hotel is in the details. The Delight is a great hotel.
I was not expecting much from this 3-star hotel in a small town on the coast of Namibia. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised.
Upon check-in, I was greeted with a complimentary glass of sweet tea. They were incredibly welcoming. The lobby is beautiful, someone clearly put time and effort into designing the space. There were couches, a fireplace, a well-stocked bar, and beautiful touches of artwork everywhere.
The rooms were equally surprising. Impeccably clean and also well designed. Touches of red with sparkling white and wood make the room pop and feel like something way more hip than a simple hotel. The W could learn a thing or two from this hotel's design chops.
The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, the towels were soft and gigantic. It was like wrapping myself in a cloud. There was coffee and tea as well as free cookies in the room. The desk was large and the chair comfortable. Heat and aircon were modern and worked well. And there were extra blankets just in case.
The included buffet breakfast also exceeded expectations. Omelettes to order, fresh fruit, baked goods, a meat and cheese platter, and an array of hot breakfast meats created a memorable experience.
Overall I can't imagine a better stay. This place is not a 3-star hotel. It's clearly a 4 and should be recategorized to reflect it's amenities and attention to detail.
I will almost certainly stay here again when I make it back to the...

I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing several Gondwana Collection properties, each known for their consistency and quality. But The Delight Hotel in Swakopmund exceeded even my high expectations—it’s an experience that truly lives up to its name.
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt fresh, inviting, and effortlessly comfortable. This isn’t just about a bed to sleep in; it’s about feeling completely at ease, surrounded by thoughtful touches that make you want to linger.
One of the features I particularly appreciated was their approach to dining. Instead of locking guests into a standard in-house dinner service, The Delight gives you the freedom to explore Swakopmund’s fantastic restaurants, all within easy reach. Yet, if you prefer a light bite, the bar area offers exactly what you need without compromise.
What struck me most, though, was the genuine warmth of the team. Whether it was a friendly word from the gardener, the attentiveness of housekeeping, or the cheerful service at the bar, there was a consistent message: you matter here. That sincerity is rare, and it’s what makes The Delight feel so special.
Would I recommend this hotel? Without a doubt—absolutely yes. My personal rating: a strong 5/5. Well done, Gondwana Collection, for creating not just another hotel, but a memorable experience in the heart of Swakopmund.

Read moreMy check-in experience was smooth, the Stuff are quiet friendly and very helpful. The room was clean, beddings, towels everything was just perfect. I would have loved to stay upstairs nonetheless that will be for next time.
The staff in the restaurant were breakfast is held are quite friendly too and kind. One think I have picked up from all the staff is the fact that they all had smiley faces which was beautiful to see this include ( the receptionist, The gentleman who assisted with the luggage's, the housekeeping , the restaurant, the managers who takes time to come ask if everyone and everything is okay . I mean it's Gondwana we are talking about had the same experience @Desert Grace and @King Nehale; Exceptional services right there.
Keep it up.
The only thing I wasn't happy with is the fact that i found my room door unlocked with all my belongings in it , I eft it locked however I found it unlocked must have been the housekeeping that probably forgot to lock it. We all book for different reasons at the lodges and some people might have hidden agendas, for the safety of all your guests ( housekeeping should always double check if the room is locked before they leave especially when the belongings of the guests are in the room) one would never know really.
With that said my overall service and experience was excellent and I will definitely...
