RUMI's Bistro — Restaurant in Budhanilkantha Municipality

Went to this place yesterday as it was my mom's birthday and practically next to my home. The decorations and ambiance is really nice here. The insides are well air conditioned. Ordered mushroom chilli, bbq chicken poppers, chicken saadheko and a hawaiian pizza. The mushroom chilli was okay. The first chicken popper was really succulent and yummy and had that nice bbq flavour. I liked it so much that I ordered it again. However, I felt it was not as good the second time. The chicken saadheko was really really good and almost reminded me home made chicken saadheko. It had that delicious bhuteko tori ko tel flavour which was top notch. The Hawaiian pizza was decent. I liked that the base was thin and the sauce and cheese were quite flavourful. But the chicken pieces were bland themselves and the pineapple slices were thin and too sweet for my liking. Overall, the food was really good. I will definitely be back for some more.

The waiting staff feel yet to have settled properly into their roles as I saw a poor dude take our drinks to a different table. However, I am going to cut them some slack regarding a few gaffes as they are still new and probably learning.

If you are in #kathmandu AND you have not been to this gem of a place - you are definitely missing out.

Rumi's is a foodies mecca dream hub, child friendly with superb all weather ambiance. To top it up, it offers customer service like none other - the attention to the details are almost at a military precisions with equal gentle care and thoughts put into ensuring seemless customer satisfaction.

Food = 5 🌟 i ageee with all the 5🌟 reviews in this page about the food. No more needed to elaborate. I would add that there are few new twists to the existing menu.. "the only way you can find out is by tryin it out"

Child friendly=5🌟 it offers a well designed children play area for all age groups. What i like about it is, the play area is adjescent to the outaide parlour where us - the helicopter parents - can enjoy our space or peace (psst🤣).

If you can, do say hello to the manager Suraj and ask about his startup/ventures. You are in for a treat!

Considering there is a mini playground for small children, you'd think the place would be better suited for them. It is not. The food and atmosphere attracts a younger crowd and they pretty much all smoke. They don't have an outdoor non-smoking section, and the tables are literally 1m away from the playground. So if you bring children, be prepared to be surrounded by smokers, including when they're playing. There's also no changing table or space for it, although there is a large accessible toilet that could make do.

If you are a youth who likes to smoke, this is the place for you. It's a pretty chill atmosphere with good outdoor seating and set back from the road so the traffic isn't noticeable.

The food is pretty good too, even if it's an eclectic mix of styles.
