The service at this establishment was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive throughout our entire meal. They went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
When it comes to drinks, the menu offered an impressive selection of cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. The bartenders showcased their expertise, crafting exquisite cocktails that were both visually appealing and incredibly tasty. The drinks were perfectly balanced, enhancing the overall dining experience. Specially the Khatu mojito and bells of the hell was awesome, I advise all need to try it.
Now, let’s talk about the food , Thakali chicken set was my favoriate. Rest food was absolute culinary delight! Each dish we ordered was a authentically taste balanced. The flavors were bold, harmonious, and simply divine. From appetizers to main, every bite was a revelation. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.
In summary, the outstanding service, meticulously crafted drinks, and exceptional food make this place a true gem. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or a memorable celebration, this establishment delivers an unforgettable experience that will leave you coming...
Read moreHoping to try some authentic Tibetan cuisine, we headed to Dewachen Restaurant in Baluwatar. First impressions were promising — the restaurant had ample parking space for both two- and four-wheelers. We ordered a variety of dishes - Gyuma (Tibetan sausage), Buff momo, Bok choy with mushroom (requested without without mushroom), Tingmo (Tibetan bread) and Shakam Datshi (a Bhutanese specialty). The Gyuma was served first and turned out to be the highlight of the meal — rich, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by the tomato achaar. Truly a standout dish. Next came the buff momo, which was decent but underwhelming. The filling lacked the depth one might expect from a great momo. The bok choy, served without mushroom as requested, was fresh and well-prepared. We paired it with the Tingmo, which absolutely stole the show — soft, fluffy, and perfectly steamed. A solid 5/5. Unfortunately, the meal ended on a low note with the Shakam Datshi, which was bland and lacked the rich depth typical of the dish. It didn’t quite taste right. Overall, Dewachen offered a fine but not exceptional experience. While a couple of dishes really shone, others left us wanting more. Worth a visit for the Tingmo and Gyuma alone — just manage your expectations...
Read moreCompelled to write a review because of the disappointing service. The food and atmosphere are excellent, but the menu lists "homemade iced tea" and I made sure to ask the wait staff if the iced tea was truly homemade. They confirmed it was, so my entire table ordered homemade iced tea. Lo and behold—it was store-bought iced tea. I complained to the same wait staff that this isn't homemade iced tea, like she'd confirmed previously, and she said, "Hamro ma ta estei ho," indicating the wait staff at Dewachen isn't even trained on such basic things as what constitutes as homemade food and drink versus not. I was further upset that she didn't offer to replace the drink, having misinformed me about its preparation. I expect better from a high-end restaurant like Dewachen that otherwise has good food and a peaceful and pleasant...
