One fine morning, while on a grocery run to Bhat-Bhateni, we stumbled upon a familiar name—Tip Top, renowned for its iconic samosas (instantly brought back childhood memories of New Road!).
There were two of us, and we decided to try the Puri Sabji and Cholley Bhaturey, accompanied by a warm cup of masala tea. Everything was being freshly prepared, so it took a bit of time—but it was absolutely worth the wait.
The Cholley Bhaturey was bursting with flavor—rich and comforting. It came with a few delightful extras: marinated chillies, fried potatoes, mixed pickle, and a fresh salad. The Puri Sabji was equally satisfying, with soft, fresh puris and a hearty sabji made of potatoes and channa (chickpeas).
The masala tea was the perfect complement to the meal—fragrant, strong, and soothing.
Though we were tempted by their famous samosas, we were far too full to try them this time. Maybe that’s Tip Top’s way of making sure we return!
Verdict: A must-visit for anyone who loves traditional, flavorful North Indian-style food. We’ll definitely be back—for those samosas next time!

Read moreTip Top has always been the first choice for Samosas. From the time I started eating Samosas, I've been in love with it. Their sweets are also perfect but whenever I visit Tip Top, the first thing I order is Samosa. And their Samosas are always freshly cooked, hot and served with the best chutney. Other perfect delicacies served here are Rasbari, Lalmohaan, Laddu, and mixed sweets. Thank God, Tip Top has an oultet at Maharajgunj and I can visit it more often...
