Mamma Peppino — Restaurant in Alkmaar

We went here after seeing all the amazing reviews. The food was great but the service was sadly only just OK and at times seemed a little confused (from what we had read we were we were certainly expecting a bit more). When asking for a bottle of wine the waitress seemed to be quite bewildered by what we wanted (despite the fact that I was speaking Dutch) and when she did understand only offered us a bottle of house wine and no other options. This was the most beautiful and special place we have ever been to. The Restaurant looks so nice and cosy. There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. The food was just the best.. cant explain in words. It was an italian journey. Highly recommend the starter plate, it was so fun to taste all different things and they were very delicicious. The service was great as well and very attentive. They took the time to welcome you and explain everything. It was a pure joy ! I recommend highly to everyone, especially if you are in alkmaar and vegan/vegetarian. Erg bedankt...

Wir hatten das unglaubliche Glück, spontan an einem Samstag direkt um 17.30 Uhr einen Tisch ohne Reservierung zu bekommen. Schon lange wollten wir mal im Mamma Peppino essen, da wir aber immer eher spontan in Alkmaar sind, passte es bisher nie. Das werden wir in Zukunft ändern müssen, denn wir hatten das beste (Restaurant-)Essen seit sehr sehr langer Zeit. Das Restaurant selbst ist sehr gemütlich und sauber, es riecht schon beim Hereintreten phantastisch. Der Blick auf die Getränkekarte machte uns direkt glücklich: gibt es doch tatsächlich besondere Bio-Limonaden (z.b. Mandarine :-)) Wir bestellten die vegetarische Antipasti und zwei vegetarische Gerichte. Die Antipastiplatte war wirklich herausragend – selten haben wir so interessante und besondere Variationen von gefüllten Paprika und weiterem Gemüse (frisch!) erlebt. Der dazugehörige Salat und die Bruscetta waren ebenso besonders und hochwertig. Man schmeckte die Qualität und die Liebe zum kulinarischen Detail. Auch die Hauptgerichte waren super – vor allem waren es ziemlich große Portionen. Das führte leider dazu, dass kein Platz mehr für ein Dessert war, der stattdessen bestellte Mocca war laut Ehemann aber der beste, den er je getrunken hat. Die dazu gereichte kleine Schokolade rundete den wirklich besonderen und tollen Besuch ab – sie schmeckte wie alles dort einfach großartig! Die Mitarbeiter standen dem dem tollen Essen in nichts nach – professionell, sehr freundlich/herzlich und serviceorientiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
