I'm assigning a rating of 1 star, as I don't find an option to rate any lower. This reflects my dissatisfaction with the overall experience and the issues encountered with the food quality and service. I placed an order for shrimp biriyani, but upon receiving it, I discovered a significant number of chicken pieces in the dish. This discrepancy suggests that the biriyani may have been either old or mistakenly mixed up. Regardless of the cause, I find it unacceptable to receive a dish with such errors in it. This incident is the second time I've encountered food quality issues with the same restaurant recently. It's disheartening to face recurring problems with the food quality, and I believe it's essential for the restaurant to address these issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction. It appears that the restaurant doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction, evident from their practice of serving hot food items in low-quality plastic containers. Many alternatives in the market and other restaurants have adopted better practices. Despite being a frequent customer and placing numerous orders, my recent experience has compelled me to make a tough decision – I've decided to refrain from getting takeout from this place. It's disappointing when businesses seem more profit-minded than concerned about providing a quality and satisfactory...

Worst experience ever in an Indian restaurant.

The waiter and waitress take orders randomly and not on who came first. People who came later got served before our order was taken.

After 40 minutes of waiting we have got our salad served (if you can call it a salad we have got better salad in MacDonalds see the picture).

After 55 minutes still no food. Meanwhile we noticed also the delivery guy was making his 3 rounds, which means they prefer make the takeaway faster than for the people who was waiting in the restaurant.

After 1 hour we decide to leave because we still hadn't received water wat we have ordered. The waiter stopped us and said that the food was ready so we decided to stay because we didn’t want to spill the food (afterward we regrated this decision). The excuse of the waiter was that we ordered one starter extra which is ridicules.

We ordered Veg Kottu Parota which had lot of onions and paneer, paneer was not mentioned on the menu and I am following a plant based diet. But I ate it anyway because we didn’t want it throw it away. The Mutton curry that my wife had was so bad that we shared the kottu parotta and left for dessert somewhere else.

Very bad service and food never had this experience in any Indian restaurant.

We were glad that we didn’t bring our kids 😊. We will never return to this reataurant and advise others...

After read a lot of good review comments, we selected this restaurant last week to have lunch with my friend's family and mine. We traveled about 120 km to have our lunch at this restaurant. We had mixed feelings about the food and services.

Let me start with the food. We really enjoyed few items namely Era poondu varuval, Paneer sukka, Prawn biriyani that were really tasty. However other items such as prawn chettinad, ceylon parotta and gobi machurian were tasteless and not worth for money. About Service:- Initially a service executive took our order with smiling face. And told us politely that they will stop taking order after 14:30 pm (we didn't know and it was not mentioned anywhere in their web site). However our order was taken. The one star for this person. Then the food was served by another guy. He served the food to us reluctantly which we felt discomfort and disrespect. The way the guy treated us like "Yen-da inge vanthinge". At the end of our lunch, he came and told us that they were going to close the restaurant. And he asked us to leave immediately. This was unexpected and unaccepted. We paid our bill and left the place at once. What we felt was (Mathiyaather vaasal mithikaathe) that we have chosen a wrong hotel. Due this fact, I stopped recommending this place to my local friends because of that guy's...

Today I had a really bad experience of Atchaya. I am a regular customer of Atchaya and usually every 2 weeks we go for South Indian food. Now a days they have started to keep Spa water bottle of 750 ml on each table for customers. Ofcourse customer needs to pay for Spa water if they drink it. Though customer may not have asked but as it is on their table. (Most of the time tap water is refused) At the time of paying bill, I was surprised they charged me 5 Euros extra for Spa. All understood that table service + extra cost of managing restaurant may add up. But I found 5 Euros without informing customer as that bottle was kept on the table without even customer was made aware. I am not saying you should not charge, but 5 Euros I found it too much when your best masala dhosa cost 7.50 Euros. (1 liter spa in Albert Heijn cost 1 Euros) You should do business but not cheat. Just think and for sure I also have to search for other south Indian restaurant in Amsterdam/Amstelveen. Really disappointed ☹️
