Il Caffè — Restaurant in Amstelveen

We had a bad experience here, especially with the manager. We came for the 9.50euro burger special as advertised on their Instagram. We ordered via the QR code, as advised, when the burgers came out there were 4 (we only ordered 3), instead of taking the 4th one back the manager insisted it was our fault and his system is ‘never wrong’. We for sure have proof we only ordered and had the confirmation of 3. He left the burger at out table and didn’t take it back or apologise. He was rude. We had to call a friend to come and take the burger, as students we cannot afford to pay for an additional meal when we did not order it. The response from the manager was shocking. The burger was not that good either, which was a shame. When paying we were charged full price (after checking with staff at the start before ordering that the burger deal was today for €9.50) we had to go in and question the price, after hesitation we were refunded, however our overall experience was not great and we will not be back nor do we recommend for dining - maybe a drink only...

Me and my friends participated in an (international) Pubquiz today. Unfortunately all the communication (pub slides, reading out of questions) was in Dutch and we had to request translations to be able to participate. This made us feel unwelcome as we were expecting an event for the international community. We don’t mind Pubquizes being in Dutch as we are only guests in this country, but please advertise them as such. That is why I am giving only one star for this evening’s experience. Realmente pensé que había tenido una buena experiencia en este lugar, pero ahora me siento engañada.

La persona que nos atendió era aparentemente agradable y servicial. A pesar de que el servicio fue algo lento debido a que tenían un evento y por lo tanto había mucha gente, pasamos un buen rato y entendimos de sobra la demora. Soy vegana, por lo que al entrar le pregunté al camarero si tenían opciones para mi. Nos dijo que sí y nos las señaló en el menú, pero nos avisó de que la cocina aún estaba cerrada y que en ese momento solo podríamos pedir snacks variados (todos veganos, según él). Decidimos pedir los snacks mientras esperábamos a que abriera la cocina. Hasta aquí bien, tomamos los snacks y unas bruschettas y nos fuimos. A parte de lo exagerado del precio de los snacks fritos (11 euros por 12 piezas enanas) el gran problema viene cuando vamos a comprar algo a un supermercado cercano al salir de este establecimiento y me encuentro con esos mismos snacks en la sección de congelados. Algunos de ellos tenían queso y otros hasta carne. Evidentemente me sentó fatal y me quedé con muy mal sabor de boca, si no estás seguro de poder ofrecer un producto, no mientas.
