Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! I had a TREMENDOUS TIME HERE! This review is actually a tad late as I was in the Netherlands about a month ago. That said, the experience was so outstanding that it won't be difficult to remember how everything was.
In the first place, I was greeted at the door by a very charming and well-dressed man. He and the young lady conversed briefly, and they decided to seat me in her section. AND IT WAS A GOOD THING! She was PHENOMENAL!! When I say that she was PHENOMENAL, I mean it without hesitation.
She was extremely patient and kind. She kept a smile on her face for the complete duration of my stay. She never once complained or gave a "look" while I waffled back and forth, from one indecision to the next. Additionally, she gave me some recommendations for foods that she thought I might like or appreciate.
Now, can we talk about the INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR of this place??! OMG! CLEAN! CLEAN!! CLEAN is the word of the day. I didn't find anything on the ground of the exterior, nor did I see any food or trash in the foyer or anywhere in the restaurant. Moreover, I just loved their choices of decor for the interior. Look at my photos. You'll see what I mean. It was quite beautiful what they did.
Furthermore, if you know my reviews, then you know how much of a stickler I am about men's restrooms being cleaned. Well, when I said that CLEAN WAS THE WORD OF THE DAY, I MEANT IT! Don't believe me; just look at the pictures I included. The men's restroom was IMMACULATE! It was very well organized and ornately decorated. It was so exciting to see.
Finally, I cannot end this review without addressing the food (since that's what people are mostly concerned with...lol) Everything was great! Well...almost everything. I ordered a traditional Tikka Masala and Basmati Rice meal with flan on the side. I additionally requested a ginger ale that came in a bottle (see in the photo...it's different than ours here)
My one gripe about this experience was the mysterious "soup" concoction that came with a very peculiar and off-putting odor. O_o It was difficult to smell it. And the taste was...how shall I say... "odd" and arresting. Frankly, I should've just returned it and had it removed from my bill. But nonetheless, I forged ahead trying to palate as much as I could (which wasn't a lot) Even the server said that she couldn't stomach the smell.
Aside from that, everything else was fine. This place is a MUST SEE if you're ever in Amsterdam South. You'll receive the best service (from everyone including the owner), best food, and experience cleanliness as if they cleaned it especially...
Read moreStepping into Holi in Amsterdam felt like stepping right back into the heart of Delhi — not just in taste, but in soul.
From the moment we walked in, the aroma of spices instantly transported us home. The ambiance is elegant yet warm, with subtle desi touches that don’t scream “theme” but whisper “authentic.” The staff? Incredibly welcoming, attentive without hovering — just like the best places in South Delhi where hospitality flows naturally.
We started with the chaat platter, and it was spot on — crisp, tangy, perfectly balanced, and unapologetically bold in flavor. It’s rare to find a place outside India that nails that chaat masala magic. The butter chicken? Creamy, smoky, and rich, just like the ones at Moti Mahal in Daryaganj. The dal makhani tasted like it had simmered overnight — deep, earthy, and comforting. Every bite reminded us of Delhi winters and wedding feasts.
And the naan — soft, pillowy, slightly charred — perfect for scooping up those gravies. We couldn’t resist trying the mango kulfi to finish, and it was the perfect sweet ending, evoking childhood memories of street-side kulfi carts.
What makes Holi special isn’t just the food — it’s the feeling. It’s that rare, heartwarming experience when you’re far from home but everything feels just right. Holi doesn’t just serve Indian food — it understands it.
If you’re in Amsterdam and missing Delhi, or just want to taste Indian food the way it’s meant to be —...
Read moreFairly new restaurant (about 9 months old). It was our first visit. Chanced upon this restaurant website and after going through the menu, wanted to give it a try. Needless to say, our first experience was awesome. The owner, Mr. Paramjeet is very friendly and warm - overall, a pleasing personality. Apart from suggesting the must try dishes and combinations, he took every feedback positively. Ensured everything was perfect to a T. We ordered Mango lassi, and it was really good. Starters were Paapdi chaat & Veg Samosa. Our main course was plain roti, vegetable manchurian which came with a plain naan & raajma with complimentary rice. It was optimum. Dessert was pista kulfi. We were not too happy with it and he waived off the same from the bill. Ended the meal with masala chai/Indian tea and it was very soothing... one of the best I have had in The Netherlands. Although the pricing might seem tad bit high, its worth every penny! The staff need to be trained a bit more, with regard to the menu. Waiting time for food is a bit long. Would be great if it can be worked on. So, reducing a bit on the rating for service. Ambiance : 5/5 Hygiene : 5/5 Service : 4/5 Quantity and Quality of food: 4.5/5 Parking : Ample parking space available on the street and its free after...
