Are you planning to drive more than an hour to arrive to this restaurant? Better find somewhere else to go because it doesn’t matter if you have a reservation, they don’t care. Came with a reservation and they said sorry we are full. But hey we reserved and called in advance to know if it was ok to come 15 min late. They said yeah sure no worries. We arrived and of course we had to worry because the “people of our table didn’t leave”. But what do you mean? So when we called the guy “expected them to leave and they didn’t”. But, we had a reservation? Idk how they arrange their tables.. but don’t tell someone that they can come and then stop them at the entrance saying you are full even when they double checked with you if they still could come. We lost gas, an hour drive so basically two hours because we had to go home, tired and hungry and they didn’t even care. No courtesy, not an apology nothing. They just ignored my husband and let us there standing. Sad to see they give such little care to their customers, we have come here before and recommended the place a lot. Now, sorry but I won’t trust this...

A Taste of Colombia at Salento Latino in Amsterdam

Last night, a friend and I enjoyed a fantastic evening at Salento Latino in Buitenveldert. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and relaxed, friendly service. The atmosphere was lively and inviting — definitely a good thing we reserved ahead, as the restaurant was bustling.

The menu features authentic Colombian dishes, and every bite was a treat. I  loved the Tequeños and the chicken-filled empanada — crispy, flavorful, and paired beautifully with fresh chimichurri. My grilled chicken main course was cooked to perfection, and the Tres Leches cake for dessert was moist, rich, and utterly delicious.

Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and parking is easy on the street.

All in all, a wonderful night of great food, friendly faces, and vibrant ambiance. I will definitely have dinner there again .

Highly...

TL;DR: Good food, not so good service, still worth a visit. First of all, the place is indeed authentic: design and decorations, music playing in the background, staff, and, of course, food: everything has Colombian vibes. We really enjoyed starters such as yukka fries, plantains and corn pancakes with cheese. Main dishes were not as interesting as starters (e.g. regular steaks were to chewy and dry, royal steak was too fatty, fish was a bit boring in terms of spices). Therefore my recommendation is to get various starters: trust me even 2 per person is enough to get full because each dish there is a calorie bomb. Drinks are good: I enjoyed beer with lemon and sangria. Service is extremely slow, they forget orders, they didn’t have some things that were in the menu. But overall, it’s a great place to get familiar...

I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and we all loved it! The staff was exceptionally friendly and chill, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The music was very lovely (I even Shazammed some of the songs because the I liked them a lot!) & most importantly: the food was incredibly delicious, leaving us all impressed and satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. Ps: the lime cake was exceptional & all deserts are homemade!
