Ama Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Fresh sushi! Did not smell one bit. The tuna was a gorgeous shade of purple. It almost looked too perfect. Food presentation overall was okay. The special rolls look nice, but they don’t taste that nice with the mint and the rice paper. Too bad.

Unfortunately, their sushi rice has no taste whatsoever. I had to drench my sushi in lots and lots of soy sauce in order to get it to taste edible, it was that bad. I hope after my comment, they’ll start considering using actually Japanese ingredients for the rice.

I was super excited because the reviews are great but honestly I didn’t really like it. I ordered the miso chicken ramen. The broth is lacking flavour, the toppings are really small. And the chicken is more like and chicken snitzel that’s cut in strips, it tastes cheap . The veggie gyoza is really really good tho I loved it. I asked to switch out my corn in the ramen for shitake and they did that free of charge that was nice. If you order in there site they have a deal that gets you a free soda but I didn’t reserve my soda, I don’t really mind because it was complementary but it is a little wierd. Overall I have...

Ama Sushi & Ramen have the freshest sushi I ever tried in Amsterdam. I love to indulge in one their party boxes on a Friday with a movie. Everything they make is so tasteful, fresh and just has “the right” bite. I am personally a huge salmon lover, which you can get absolutely well made here. In addition to that, any of their special rolls, such as spicy tempura are delicious. Their staff is also so friendly, they always take the time to make a little chat when you come by again.
