Doardi — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Great fries in good old West During my continued search for the perfect fry, I encountered Doardi. Being located in my old neighbourhood, the 'Staatsliedenbuurt', I did not expect to find a great contender for that prestigious title. Doardi is, however, a great contender indead.

I was the first order of the day, arriving just after 12 in the afternoon. I ordered a regular sized portion of fries with a good slab of mayo and while it was being fried a growing number of people, most appeared to be regulars, joined the line. The fries had a great crisp, were salted well and not greasy at all.

Not only was the food great, so was the owner who was super friendly. We had a nice chat with each other as well as with the other customers. A great neighbourhood fry that you should...

It was the end of the evening. The fries you could see when she was putting them in we're really overcooked and too dark. They were really bad overcooked and dry.

I actually didn't eat them all but luckily for their bank account I decided to get a gelati to get the flavour out of my mouth.

I told the girl as I ordered the ice cream that the friets were overcooked and dry.. she just shrugged her shoulders.

The ice cream was really good. I had strawberry cheesecake and mango sorbet. Was delicious.

That they should be really ashamed to sell freit's from a freit ...

Great fries and fantastic ice-cream & sorbets.

We ate here twice l, first time was for ice cream, then we came back for fries and croquettes.

The sorbets are really refreshing and the ice-creams very nice, one of the best I've had.

I had the beef croquette and fries with fritesauce and they were well cooked, not greasy and the sauce really nice.
