We had a special occasion as our baby turned 6 months old so we booked a table at 17:09, as with babies its always unpredictable we were late but this was absolutely no problem as we were met with joy and got to choose a comfortable spot. We had our stroller as we guessed it’s a new restaurant may not have baby high chair so it was a good idea. The place is beautifully lit and the sunset is filling the room with warm natural light. The stuff is super friendly and very welcoming, explaining everything from the menu etc. great english too, thx! As in terms of drinks, the french red wine we preferred was not available which is a bit strange for the first day, but we could drink a Primitivo (Italian) also good! Nice non alcoholic Californian white wine too! In terms of food, it was a good variety of fish, beef vegan and chicken. It was ok - Decent portions, tastes fresh, interesting combinations, felt good. For a 5 star we thought the bread (and butter ), bread could be crustier, and food was good but some final touch felt like missing for the prices. Red french wine per glass would suggest a bigger variety for a french food menu. Would like to come again and try out more. Quite good food, staff was nice as well as the place but the service and management of the place was really bad.

It took more then 2hrs between our arrival and having food on the table (besides the bread). We literally started to look for a place in different restaurants around after 1,5hrs.

Waiters were running around, kitchen didn’t stop but it was just not enough to make up for the mismanagement of the space and time overall - too little staff, too many guests or I really can’t explain how it is even possible.

We were very disappointed, especially given the generally high reviews. They apologized at the end that they were having issues but it was too late, damage done.

Issues needs to be addressed when they emerge. Bottled of wine, some snacks need to be offered as courtesy on house so people don’t starve. It’s not up to guests to chase if we can get something so we...

Bar & brasserie HAUT, is een nieuwkomer in Weesp die anders dan de naam doet vermoeden, niets te maken heeft met ‘haute cuisine’, al is het wel Frans georiënteerd. Hier krijg je per menugang méér dan een vleugel van een kwartel en drie doperwten op een bedje van uitgestreken jus met truffelschaafsel. Met 6 personen komen we op lunch. Er staan interessante gerechten op de kaart die je in Weesp niet snel elders zult vinden. Neem bijvoorbeeld de ‘open sandwich’ pastrami met zuurkool en ja, tóch truffel, zei het in een saus. De pastrami is ab-so-luut voortreffelijk! Garnituur komt in overvloed, zij het niet aangezet met bijvoorbeeld een vinaigrette en daardoor droog. Een ander gerecht dat heerlijk is, is ‘Les Œufs Benedicts saumon’. Wederom tot in perfectie bereid Te beginnen met de gepocheerde eieren. Net als bij de pastrami: héérlijk brood en een overdaad aan garnituur. Maar... óók bij dat gerecht: is de sla niet aangezet met bijv. olijfolie en balsamico. Of vinaigrette. Jammer. HAUT legt de lat hoog, maar verdient tóch nog wat aandachtspunten: zo bood het restaurant voldoende vrije placering, maar werd onze groep van 6 pal voor een vergelijkbaar grote groep gezet met praktisch geen tussenruimte. Onhandig. En hoe lekker het verse robuuste brood daar ook is, met de ongekend botte messen, was er geen doorsnijden aan. Tip voor de chef: serveer aangezette garnituur met een Franse vinaigrette. Anders dan dat? Mooi ingerichte zaak met zeer attent personeel. Eigenlijk dus maar twee aandachtspunten. HAUT: geef een andere betekenis aan iets met de Franse slag doen. Leg de lat HAUT! Doen de chef en patron dat, dan kan HAUT zomaar de beste lunchroom én het restaurant van Weesp worden. Bienvenue au nouveau venu de Weesp, chapeau!

We stopped in for lunch casually on a Monday (most places are closed on Monday is weesp) and the server was so kind- he helped us translate the menu and we ended up splitting the pastrami sandwich (incredible 10/10 like a lighter, non greasy Reuben) and we treated ourselves to the fondue florentine mushroom… a large portobello filled to the brim with melted Gruyère, spinach and deliciousness… also 10/10… the roasted veggies it was served with were so fresh and amazing!! Could not recommend this more!

Tourists from America and had one of the best meals of our lives. We stopped in for lunch casually on a Monday (most places are closed on Monday is weesp) and the server was so kind- he helped us translate the menu and we ended up splitting the pastrami sandwich (incredible 10/10 like a lighter, non greasy Reuben) and we treated ourselves to the fondue florentine mushroom… a large portobello filled to the brim with melted Gruyère, spinach and deliciousness… also 10/10… the roasted veggies it was served with were so fresh and amazing!!
