Chef Olaf Harmsen serves up a creative and well-priced menu in the Rembrandtplein area of Amsterdam. We enjoyed a three-course, prix fixe, meal (soup of the day, a pick of one of three entrees, and a dessert) for €29.50. I enjoyed the corn soup with coriander and sesame, duck with seasonal vegetables, and peach Melba for dessert. My husband and I liked it so much we returned within a week. Read moreThe dining experience at Harmsen is one of the highlights during my short stay in Amsterdam. We dined here the first night we landed and realised we have unintentionally set Harmsen as the benchmark and whenever we went afterwards, we compare the experience with Harmsen. Food is flawless especially the grilled sea bass and I have no complaints on all the dishes we had. The complimentary bread was unanimously (family of 4) “the best bread we’ve ever had”. The Thai soup, was also way up there and described by my son as ‘imaculate’.
