Came here after seeing this yesterday. As a punjabi family on a very short vacation from London I can honestly say this blew our expectations. Let me begin
The main restaurant was closed due to a refurbished but hey we were greeted so amicably by the owner we decided to have a take away.
He is from Northern Punjab and the conversation kicked off with a mutual reliance as my wife is also from the same region.
Ordered the Lamb with tandoori roti and my wife wanted gobi paronthas...(not on the menu) he dived straight in and said no issue. Massive tick!
Whilst we waited he offered me some Beers so I one inevitably indulged. Very nice conversation followed and before we knew it the food arrived. He threw in 3 free bottles of water as a gesture of good will.
Plates folks and spoon we were on our way back to the hotel.
The food? Well all we can say it was by far one of the best indian meals we have had in Amsterdam. The portion were huge and every morsel of lamb was soft tender and delicious and the gravy on its own was packed with flavour!
The gravy brought back some GT Road Dhabba memories!
Fantastic meal at a fantastic price. 👌🏽
Don't hesitate. Trust me. Its...

Our guests left without dinner because we just had no idea if the order would come or not and it was too late to order something else.
We really wanted to love this place - we love Indian food and are always looking for a great neighbourhood spot. Unfortunately we’re just...
Read moreThe food is absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I were craving Indian food after watching a delightful film called the Lunchbox. Needless to say, the movie had our palates drooling so we ordered food from two different Indian restaurants to compare. I ordered from Madras Diaries and my boyfriend from Chandi Chowk (named after a street in India). Chandi Chowk was by far superior in portion size, pricing, and fullll of flavour. Wow. It was delicious that we have decided to only order Indian food from them.
At the moment, their dining hall is still under remodelling, but they have 1 lovely table available to dine in. The staff is super friendly and gave us a tour of the in works restaurant. I can't wait...
