Stayed for 7 nights with a friend, the rooms are a bit dark although relatively large, there's an AC panel in the room but it doesn't do anything and you have to call the reception in order to turn it on or change any of the settings and here layes the problem, the first 2 days it didn't work at all in the room despite numerous talks with reception both in person and on the phone, the first time they said that indeed it wasn't on so they turned it on for us (that was right before we went out for the day for our plans in the city so we didn't know if it actually worked or not but when we returned later that day we saw that it still didn't work), the next time they said that everything is working fine on their end and offered to change the temperature in the room and we accepted but the next day it still didn't work. We asked for a different room with a working air conditioner or at least to send someone to check it and fix the problem but they said there's nothing they can do for us. At that point we just gave up and decided to try and enjoy the rest of our vacation despite the problem but later on suddenly someone who claimed he came to check the AC came to our room but when he saw that we were in it just said sorry and left so we don't know if he actually did anything or maybe returned later on when we weren't in the room but from that day on the AC started working although not 100% (it would start for a few seconds, you would feel the cold air coming but then it would just stop, no air would come out what so ever and after a few minutes it would turn on again but stop after a few seconds and vice versa) Also one day the regular housekeeping lady was probably not at work that day so our room wasn't cleaned at all despite putting on the please clean sign and leaving the room for most of the day (we put on the sign at around the same time as the other days and came back around the same time as other days so it wasn't because of that), when we talked to reception about it they said they would try to find someone to clean our room. Since it was late and we were tired after the day we just asked to change the towels, at first they want us to go down with the used towels to them and pick up new ones only after some arguing they finally agreed to send someone up with clean towels and pick up the used ones (we did tip the guy so not to be rude) Location wise the hotel is fine, it's not at the center of the town but there's a tram stop just across the street which can take you to center in about 20 minutes (not a direct line, you have to change lines during bit its not a big deal, at least for us), there's also a combined tram/bus/train station about 10 minutes walk from the hotel (or one stop using the tram that's across the street from the hotel). The problem is when you try to get to other areas of the city that's not necessarily at the center than it gets more frustrating and it can take up to one hour using public transportation while it only takes 15-20 minutes using car/taxi/Uber) Food wise the hotel only serves breakfast inside a large reastrunt at the hotel, the selection is fine, there's something for everyone but taste wise at least for us things were more on the mediocre side) Rest of the staff (excluding the reception) were very nice and welcoming Overall I don't think I'll return to...

I stayed at this hotel from August 13 to August 15, 2023, and my stay was fully paid until August 15, 2023. On August 14, 2023, I was illegally evicted without any valid evidence or justification. A staff member named Conchita accused me of smoking in the room and demanded that I immediately pay a €200 “fine” or leave the hotel. Neither I nor my friend smoke — in fact, I find the smell of tobacco absolutely disgusting. The real source of the smell came from hotel staff smoking in the recreational area on the first floor, and the smoke spread through the corridor and into the rooms. I have video evidence clearly showing the staff smoking in that area, which is attached to this review.
Instead of resolving the issue and disciplining their own employees, the hotel staff called the police and forced me to leave. The police, however, did not provide any written confirmation that an official report (proces-verbaal) had been filed — leading to a strong suspicion that no report was made at all. The demand to pay €200 under the threat of eviction constitutes extortion (afpersing under Dutch law) and an attempt to charge me for a violation that never occurred.
Furthermore, during this incident, my privacy was grossly violated: when the staff member barged into the room, I was in the bathroom, and my friend was naked on the bed. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and, in my opinion, violates the right to privacy and human dignity.
This incident represents several serious legal and ethical violations by the hotel: • Attempted extortion of a guest under threat of eviction; • False accusations made without evidence; • Breach of contract and denial of a paid service (under consumer protection laws, the hotel is obligated to provide the paid room for the agreed period); • Violation of privacy and dignity through unjustified intrusion into the guest’s room; • Questionable conduct by the police, as no report or written record was provided, raising concerns about the legality of their actions.
I, Yevhen Samoilov, am writing this review not for compensation but for justice. I want others to be aware and avoid finding themselves in a similar situation — where hotel staff feel entitled to make false accusations, extort money, and invade guests’ privacy. What happened here goes far beyond the boundaries of professional conduct and basic human respect. Every guest deserves to know where they are staying and who they are dealing with before trusting such a place with their time, money, and safety.
That said, I reserve the right to pursue legal action and contact consumer protection authorities in the Netherlands if such behavior continues without consequences.
⚠️ Warning: I strongly advise against booking this hotel. The staff are unprofessional, tolerate smoking in staff areas, engage in extortion, and show a shocking disregard for guest privacy...

Extremely unsafe experience. During our stay, our locked hotel room was broken into, even though the Do Not Disturb sign was clearly displayed. Several of our belongings were stolen.
We were not negligent — the door was locked, and we took every normal safety measure. Yet the hotel refused to take any responsibility and simply quoted a legal clause (UVH Article 16.6) to say they’re not liable. We shared video evidence, a police report, and even an AirTag location — still, no accountability.
What’s worse is that we were made to feel like this was just “bad luck” rather than a serious security failure. We left traumatized, and frankly, I never want to relive that experience again.
If you care about your safety or peace of mind, I suggest staying elsewhere.
Response To The Hotels reply: Thank you for your response. However, while your message expresses sympathy, it does not change the core issue: our locked hotel room was broken into, and several of our belongings were stolen — while we were under your care as paying guests.
You acknowledge that the intruder was not a guest or staff member, and that a tool or technique was used to bypass your lock system. That is exactly what makes this so alarming — it means your security measures failed, and someone was able to access our room without detection or prevention.
We understand the legal clause you referenced (UVH Article 16.6), but quoting legal fine print does not excuse the complete lack of accountability. Legal protection is not the same as ethical responsibility. This was not a lost item or a simple mishap — this was a forced entry into a locked, supposedly secure hotel room, and your response treats it more as an unfortunate exception than a serious security failure.
What’s even more painful is the emotional aftermath we had to deal with. I was left deeply traumatized by this incident. I couldn’t sleep for the rest of our vacation — I stayed awake most nights, anxious, alert, and afraid that it could happen again. That sense of violation and fear doesn’t go away easily, and your response offered no real comfort or responsibility to help us feel supported or safe again.
While your manager may have contacted the police and provided footage, those actions — while appreciated — are the bare minimum in this kind of situation. At no point did we feel any true accountability, and certainly no proactive care or meaningful support from the hotel.
We’re not writing this for sympathy or compensation. We’re writing this to warn future guests. Safety should never be optional, and peace of mind should not depend on luck. We left feeling violated, shaken, and completely unsupported — and your response, while polished, has only...
