Hap Li Restaurant — Restaurant in Amsterdam

A gem hidden in the neighbourhood.

Walked past this restaurant by chance and decided to try out their menu. Place was quiet and relatively empty, probably due to this restaurant being more of a takeout place.

Food: We had the veg tofu, beef in veg and Japanese fried chicken, which were relatively delicious as compared to other establishments of similar cuisine.

The beef was well marinated and cooked, with a perfect mix of juicy and not chewy. Fried chicken could have been better with more chicken for the price of £12. Portion could be a lot larger though.

Price: Slightly pricy for the portions.

Service: Owners were friendly and allowed us to stay in longer as it was raining out.

Would I recommend? Yes. The food is good and I think they have good...

Ordered delivery and waited 2 hours for it to arrive. Delivery guy called after an hour to say he was at my apartment (he wasn't) and when I tried to contact him via the restaurant, they said his phone seemed to be off so we had no way to let him know he was at the wrong address.

When he finally showed up an additional hour later (2 hours wait total) - all of the food had spilled in the bag (I have no clue what he'd been doing with the food for the 2 hours). I called the restaurant about it and the only response I got was 'We can't find your order!'. No attempt to help resolve the issue or deliver food that was actually eatable to me after such a long wait. Horrible...

I always order my chinese here because they have the most fresh food. Unfortunately today, although the food was very fresh but taste was strange. Its like they have baked my tjap tjoy in a pan that was used for fish or shrimp and i hate seafood. So please next time use a different pan for different food. Because this food was not delicious Update. I tried to eat the chicken tjap tjoy of yesterday today but there was really something wrong with that food.
