My husband and I are frequent visitors of this restaurant. Yesterday evening, we even went to have our diner there. So today, we thought to have our lunch there. We did our order for takeaway, and already did our payment. Unfortunately, it started to rain very hard, so we went to sit down while they were still preparing our order. We then asked one of the waiters if we could order some tea and could still sit there, and if we could also eat the order for takeway there, since it was raining so hard. The order for take away was already packed (bread for lunch), so it was no problem for us to eat it just like that in the restaurant. Suddenly, one of the women who had packed our breads looked at as if we were criminals and she started to yell at us that we couldn't do what we were doing. We were both very confused.. the woman seemed to be so furious, she yelled so bad at us in front of so many customers, and was barely understandable (it seemed as if she spoke another language than English or Dutch). I, ofcourse also became very angry as a consequency, because I have never ever experienced a waitress treating her customers like this. I have no words, except for that she made herself pathetic in front of many of Kam Yin's customers. My husband and I are both Masters' graduates, and telling us politely that sitting in the restaurant with our takeaway order, and ordering an extra pot of tea, was not possible, would be more than understandable for us. We were both so disappointed that we asked our money back, and decided to leave the restaurant. I find it nothing but sad that a woman like this could suddenly drop the face of Kam Yin. If I may give a suggestion: this woman could rather clean the toilets at that restaurant and release all her stress there, rather than losing more loyal customers in this nothing but...
Read moreVery nice place, Asian decor and atmosphere. prices are ok but the service is very bad. When went there the lady insisted to get us a bill when we had not done ordering and were waiting to order some take home. None of the order shop attendants cared about what was going on. We had to start shouting for the lady to syop coming every 1minute for the bill. Probably because we were not white people. Although it was a bit late, there were other people in the restaurant that were not given the same treatment. Seriously if you don't have much patience: don't go there or try paying before eating :) We felt as if they...
Read moreMy husband and I discovered this place randomly. We were walking and looking for a place to eat that wasn't a tourist trap.
We found Kam Yin at 18:30 and there was a line of people out the door. We figured we would like the menu and waited for a table.
Wait staff was pleasant and took our orders. The food was flavorful and delicious! (In the United States, dishes are marked "spicy" and there is no heat.) Here, you get what a dish should taste like.
My husband and I ate at this restaurant a total of 3 times in the 4 nights we were in the area. Such good food, good prices, and a full restaurant every...
