Very very disappointing stay. Absolutely zero customer service. We are still on our day 3 and there have been one problems after the other. Day 1 we told them the soap bottle fixture in the bathroom fell on my son and the soap is all over the bath area. The lady on the reception, completely unapologetic about the whole thing said, oh we can’t do anything right now because we have no maintenance staff right now and no housekeeping to come clean the bathroom. So you just got to deal with it. We told them the ac in the room is not working nd the room is very hot. Ava’s in since we don’t have the staff nothing can be done and I don’t have any room to move you into. We spoke to the manager Izabella, the next morning sent the housekeeping to clean the washroom and the bedroom floor as the carpet was also sticky. She also gave us complimentary drinks. But that honestly doesn’t solve the problem. 3 nights we kept asking for them to send someone to check the ac or at least give us the fans so that we can at least sleep, but to no avail. Day 3 the internet stopped working. They said there’s some maintenance that’s going on we said ok. We went out and when we came back at night the internet WS till gone. When again we asked about it they said yeah it’s not working for anyone. Well, I understand maintenance but no internet for the whole day in this age nd day is unheard of. Also, we asked them for some sheets on day 2, to which the night staff promptly provided us with. Day 3, when the housekeeping came, they took the sheets away saying that you’d have to ask the front desk. When at night we asked them they said you need to ask the housekeeping. So complete miscommunication. When my husband told them what the housekeeper said they said fine we’ll get you something and got us one comforter cover when my husband specifically asked for 2 sheets. To which when he went back to the desk to ask them they started arguing that these are not called sheets. I mean the audacity when it was their issue since the beginning. Except for Izabella and another girl who worked the night shift, everyone was always in a bad mood or a disgrace to customer service. So all in all, The ac was broken and no body ever came to fix it or to even at least look at it. The front desk staff except for leaving a couple are extremely rude. Zero customer service. Absolute miscommunication between housekeeping and front desk. I’m not going to recommend this hotel to anyone at all because I wouldn’t want them to get their...
Read moreI wish I had better things to say about this place, but not much about the stay was good. Here are a few good things. It is a 3 minute walk to the train station and has a good breakfast. That is it. We stayed here for 5 nights in June. After the first night I went to take a shower and the shower filled with water. I went down to the desk and they had to let us use another room to take a shower for the rest of my family until the could fix the shower drain. We were offered 6 free drinks for the inconvenience. On the 4th day we came back and found the room to be very warm. We messed with all the settings on the thermostat without relief. In the morning of the 5th day, I let the front desk know of the issue. When we came back to the hotel that afternoon, we found the room to be even warmer than the night before. I checked in with the desk and the maintenance man told me he could not fix our a/c unit. I asked to be moved from our room and listened to the maintenance man and the front desk woman have a discussion about what room they could put us in because certain ones didn’t work. We got moved to another room and found it to be warm as well. We turned on the a/c right away and left for dinner. When we got back we found the room to be warm. My wife went to the front desk to talk to them about it and was told the whole building was having issues. The maintenance guy stated that the rooftop unit needs to be fixed. They moved us from a corner room to a middle of the building room because the corners were hotter. This was not the discussion when I first reported the issue. I feel like we were lied to. If you are having a building maintenance issue, at least own the problem. Don’t tell me you are going to move us to a different room with functional a/c unit. Our last 2 nights we had no a/c at all. This made for 2 sleepless nights. This has to be the most disappointing stay I have ever had at a Hilton property. The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows feel like they were the original pillows from when the hotel opened. They were mostly flat and uncomfortable. We have stayed in a lot of Hilton properties and other hotels worldwide. This is not the worst I have stayed in but the first time they have tried to cover and issue with a lie. We will not stay here again. I would caution you about staying here soon as the a/c problem is a rooftop problem that has not been...
Read moreTHIS PLACE IS PERFECT FOR THE TOURISTS THAT HATE NOT HAVING A CAR IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. Soooo, your wife/husband wants you to go to Amsterdam and refuses to let you rent a car due to budget restraints. Well let me tell you, I was like you. I was scared and worried about being in a foreign place known for crazy partying and not having a way to get back and forth to all the sites. My wife and I fought over it, I was mad, I was upset but I said “Ok, you win, I’ll try it!” While hoping inside that everything went wrong and we would need a car right after landing lol well I was wrong.
You land at Schirpol Airport and it is a 15 minute train ride. The train that takes you there is big (two floors) and fast. The train drops you off at Bijlmer Arena station which is directly in front of the hotel. (Don’t worry about the train, Schirpol has an amazingly tourist friendly exit with train info desks that make getting on the right train easy.)
Amsterdam is one of the euro countries that google maps is actually really accurate in and it was my best friend this whole trip.
Once we walked inside we were warmly greeted by an awesome front desk staff. The staff made the whole process quick and easy. The rooms were surprisingly updated and had the best AC system I’ve ever experienced in Europe.
Rooms were clean and comfy, I did actually hate the shower door design, but only because I am American and we are spoiled with full shower doors lol everything else was great. They have body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. The have a great breakfast buffet with sausage and bacon and some of the best croissants this side of France.
There is a great restaurant and a shopping center attached to the hotel. There is a grocery store within a minute from the front door AND There is full sized arcade that our son LOVED right in the same courtyard.
For travel, we bought a 3 day pass for 30 euros from the train info desk and it was the best decision ever. You can wake up, eat, jumó on a train and be in the middle of all the action in 10-15 minutes. 10 mins to central station. They have so many public transits options that google gives you a list of 5-10 route options at any given part of the city. This hotel is the perfect travel hub for your...
