Athenaeum Boekhandel Zuidoost — Local services in Amsterdam

I come here every now and then as I live nearby. The other day I ended up going through some of the fashion magazines and decided to take pictures of 3 spreads from i-D as they seemed interesting. The older woman working there came right away, warning me that it is a store and that i should not be taking pictures of the content. The spreads I was taking pictures of were just an ad campaign, and not content specific to the magazine. When I explained this to her, she told me she can see that they are ads and disregarded the fact that it was 6 pages out of 250+ that i was taking pictures of. I found this experience really uncomfortable as the store was really silent and she approached me loudly this way. I really did not enjoy the implication that I'm trying to steal content, especially when I was looking at the magazines to purchase one for some school research.

Really unplasant experience. Do not recommend...
