The gelato was pretty nice. Unique flavors and really tasty! Scoop sizes where generous (those are 2 scoops per bowl in the picture). But what really caught me off guard and soured the whole experience was the tipping screen when paying by card. Before you can even start the payment, you have to pick a tip percentage or press the big bad shamefull ā€˜no tip’ button while the person about to scoop your ice cream and makes your coffee is standing right there watching.

It just feels a bit strange. I mean, you haven’t even handed me the ice cream yet. What am I tipping for at that point, potential scoop quality? If I tip 20%, do my kids get an extra big scoop with a dramatic flourish, maybe even a little juggling act? If so, at least give me a heads-up.

I genuinely love tipping when someone really goes the extra mile, like being super friendly, joking around with the kids, and making the whole experience fun. That’s absolutely worth it. But asking for a tip before any of that even happens feels like paying for a mystery show without knowing what kind of performance you’re about to see. If you just give me the things i paid for i'll just pay for the things you give me... right? 4 stars for the ice, minus one for the...

I love the gelato from Massimo. I normally visit the one near De Pijp but i was closer to this one yesterday so decided to pop by. Lovely gelato as usual and I got the yoghurt flavour this time. The only differences I noticed, compared to the other shop, is that this one offers a cone as well as cups and the little spoons for the cups are made of wood rather than plastic. I "think" there's also less choice in flavours but I'm not 100% sure as I didn't count but all the flavours I wanted to try were available.

The benefit of this store is that there are tables inside where you can sit and rest. It gets quite warm when its hot but thats pretty normal in most...

This is the most amazing Italian sweet treats place in Oost (gelato + other desserts). Just got a large Tiramisu after getting a small one yesterday night! Was greeted by same friendly warm person I meet (I still don’t know his name) every time I go there! Had been ages since I had their gelato (which is AMAZING) and now I think I’ll be getting addicted to the tiramisu because it is THAT delicious! 🄲 to the sales person/owner who met me tonight: he told me ā€˜see you again tomorrow’ and I awkwardly said ā€˜I hope not’ 🤣.. what I meant was ā€˜I hope not because I don’t want to get fat šŸ˜‚ā€™ ! I just love...
