Restaurant Oeverzicht — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The restaurant location is superb, overlooking the gorgeous Sloterplas and if you time it correctly it's a great option for a Sunset dinner (very rare in Amsterdam). Although brand new, we found the service to be align if not superior to many seasoned restaurants, specially with drinks - they serve quite fast although the place was quite busy! The food took longer, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Waiters were very kind, helpful and maybe here's my first positive critisism to the owners - please allow your staff to use sunglasses (!) it broke my heart to see them squinting and I don't think that's healthy either. Everything we oerdered was delicious and the food was well prepared, yet here's another critisism: the "mediterranean" part of this restaurant is maybe too Turkish, eating Gambas al Ajillo with pita bread? Not a good mix.

We'd love to order a platter but (see the menu in my pictures) you can only order that for 2 people and that will set you back 65 EUR which is A LOT when you don't know exactly what you're going to get - they are not that well described. Also a shame that we cannot order some of the stuff you have on the platter individually.

As you can see, and I do hope the owners view this post, dispite of the criticism I still give this restaurant 4 stars. It's a great addition to the region, it's gorgeous inside and the outside is just dazzling in a sunny day. Few adjustments and this restaurant can...

Update May 2022: Finally had a chance to return for a beertje on the patio during a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon on Sloterplas. Delighted to see Oeverzicht was quite busy and was making great use to the outdoor patio space. The dinner menu was identical to 11 months ago, including the prices (no inflation). Happy to see that Oeverzicht has an Instagram page, we are now following!

Beautiful location overlooking Sloterplas with floor-to-ceiling windows for spectacular views! Mediterranean cuisine, opened June 5 so menus (not online yet) are likely still being developed. Very easy to make a reservation online, but couldn’t accept credit card yet. We had a wonderful experience here. Soups, Salmon and Shakshuka were very good, will definitely be back for dinner or a drink...

My Review of This Restaurant:

Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. My order took over an hour to arrive, and when the food finally came, it did not match what I had requested. The staff were unresponsive and showed no respect or professionalism when I tried to communicate my concerns.

It took an additional 15 minutes just to get the drinks, and when I shared my opinion about the food, the response was inappropriate and dismissive. To make matters worse, the bill was extremely high—€111 for a completely disappointing experience.
